Re: Do you ever fold the nut low in LO8?

And to the OP, I literally only remember once or twice folding a made nut low. I've been fortunate to play in a lot of loose enough games where people could be in there calling multiple bets with all kinds of non-nut stuff to pad the pot.

Re: Do you ever fold the nut low in LO8?

an example:

2 players limp, hero limps BTN with A3TJns, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop (5 players, 5 small bets): 68Kr
everyone checks

Turn (5 players, 2.5 big bets): 2 (puts a 2-flush on board)
both blinds check, first limper bets, second limper raises, hero folds...

Very good examples here. In the game I've played I've seen people raise all sorts of stuff though so I haven't folded nut low yet. Though I have been quartered a couple times so maybe I should've.

Re: Do you ever fold the nut low in LO8?

what would you do if in bigblind with A29J rainbow
there were 5 callers and you checked the option

the flop was 356 rainbow

small blind checks, you bet, then raise, raise, raise, call, call back to you?

I would fold

Yeah, but stuff like that never happens. Or if it does, it's because some of the other players are tards, not because everyone flopped the nuts.

the reason I phrased the question as I did is that I can *imagine* situations where I would fold the nut low, but I've never actually done it myself. Granted I've never been a hardcore O8 grinder, so I'm kind of wondering if it's actually something that comes up for people.

If we call, first limper calls then we call river and get 1/4 we lose like an 1/8 of a bet or something. If we fold and nobody has A3, we lose a lot more.

Likely capped 5 ways I'm calling. Seems like we'd have odds then. No way four people all have A2. There's dead money coming from at least 2 players.

Only time a hand like this would ever happen is at the 2+2 Party though lol

I remember once on online $4 plo8 folding bare A2 on 345cc against two villains who went crazy, and I'd only invested 3bb or something so sticking another 80bb in seemed like a bad idea at the time.
Villain 1 turned over 44 no low, villain 2 turned over 3568cc.

I have called and got quartered more than enough, but I mostly forgot those .

Re: Do you ever fold the nut low in LO8?

bare nut low may be worth only 25-30% pot equity. in the example i've given, I think that 25% is optimistic...
