This has been deployed. 15:35 EST, $25 NLO8 6-max hyper with a 1k guarantee.

A small step in the right direction. I like it.

At the same time, I hope the next tournament added into the schedule will not be x3-turbo/hyper.

Re: Creating a brand new Omaha 8 MTT schedule from scratch (kinda)

I would love to see a $10r in an earlier time slot, and have always thought that the 109 would do a lot better a few hours earlier, as someone else mentioned. I rarely play it anymore because it would be the last one I would register for in my session and goes a little later than I would like.

In order to get more people playing o8, I'm not sure scrapping tournaments is the solution, but rather adding smaller buy-ins at busier times, and adding gtds that are attractive to the casual players (which again has already been mentioned). Some well placed $11s and $1 and $2 rebuys with normal structures would be great additions I think. I like the idea of spreading out the $2r 3x turbos and possibly replacing one of those, or adding in between them, a regular $2r might attract more casual players to the regular structured games.

Just a thought. Any help for us o8ers would be good!

Agree on that one. (unless the 6max 3r3x from micromillions, one with a big guarantee)
Some standart freezout turbos would be nice.

Yeah, really not in love with all these hypers/3x turbos. A 'Big' $109 $10k, a daily 6-Max PLO8 $5k, $11/$22 rebuy...more of these please!

Re: Creating a brand new Omaha 8 MTT schedule from scratch (kinda)

The time schedule in the pacific, around 5pm is so poor its hardly worth playing ...
straight up, theres the $22 and the $11 and thats about it all night until the $16.50 6 man at 10:05pm...
so, I rarely play during the week and play sundays and have to get up at 5am...
and its kinda tiring because I want to sleep in sunday's...

this game has turned to mud and im just chipping away slowly...
getting more focused on wcoops and really excited...

last year my decision to get a job was the best decision I ever made...
I have really been able to get ahead in life and put money on the sharemarket, and with some ok cashouts... and nearly triple my money...
go nwe

wish you all the best...
har to get ahead in life at o8

Re: Creating a brand new Omaha 8 MTT schedule from scratch (kinda)

With the WCOOP over, I think it's time for Stars to spend some time and seriously consider revamping their schedule.

Just made a long post in the MTT Suggestions thread here. There were several general points, but some of it relates to O8.

A few quick fixes I mentioned are:
1. Changing the $7.70 NLO8 (22:05 stars time) that never runs into an $11 turbo with a mini guarantee.
2. Have the $2.20 NLO8 3x rebuys around the clock to give the game of O8 (specifically NLO8) more exposure to all of the Pokerstars players. Currently there are 3 (8:05, 12:35, 14:05 pokerstars time). If they made them every 6 hours (4 per day) or every 4 hours (6 per day) with appropriate guarantees based on the time of day, it would be beneficial for the markets in the Asian + Pacific time zones, who currently aren't able to play these tournaments.

Feel free to share any opinions that you may have.*It just takes one voice to be heard!

Re: Creating a brand new Omaha 8 MTT schedule from scratch (kinda)

I'd like to offer my support to this cause. Although Stars has an ok schedule for 08 tournaments there could definitely be a lot of improvement and more options for both Omaha hi and hi lo events.

The Weekly $530 PLO8 6-max has proven quite popular - how about having a daily version for a buy-in of around $55 with a $5-10k gtd...what about a higher buy-in daily rebuy tournament...we have a $2.5k gtd $5r PLO8 - surely there could be an $11r, a $22r or a $55r in there somewhere...and if you put a big guarantee on something it will usually attract the punters...so could Omaha not get some 'big/bigger/hot/hotter' events like NLHE?

WCOOP proved that people enjoy playing Omaha MTTs and there is enough demand for them - so let's keep growing the market.

Being in Asia I know if I want to put a session in then its going to have to be during the night. Having the 2r's all within a set time frame is good for me as if i'm staying up late they might as well be in my window of play.

The "Asia" schedule needs a big look at but it isn't too bad. What I would like to see is a duplication of the $22 fixed limit O8, 5r and Stud/8 with a decent guarantee say 12 hours later.

The thing that really annoys me as someone who enjoys playing fixed limit mixed games is that for non guarantee MTT extended registration is only 10mins. The times that the $44 or $27 actually get going the numbers are minimal because of the tiny registration window. But it also affects really good MTT like the $13.50 Knockout which gets 40-50 runners with a full hour reg this could be pulling in 100+ easily.

Also would love to see a special PLO8 MTT with antes.

I made a recent post which included the shortness of registration times and Stars has responded here.

3 of the four changes affects O8 MTTs:

14:05 ET - $5.50+R, $25 AO PLO H/L - tournament being eliminated, will be replaced by something else in the near future

22:05 ET - $7.70+R NLO - changing to Turbo, adding a guarantee, SNG satellites likely to be added
I think the 7:05 PLO8 KO will be a big hit with first place getting close to $350 rather than the $200 that it currently pays.

I'm pretty sure there is a typo and the tournament is NLO8 (and not NLO). The 22:05 $7.70 NLO8 currently runs once a month due to lack of runners and no guarantee. I think making it a turbo and also a rebuy makes it unique and gives players at this time slot a chance to play for a decent prizepool as some euro/north american grinders will stay play this to end their sessions.

Lastly, in an attempt to have further changes implemented, I made this post:

Re: Creating a brand new Omaha 8 MTT schedule from scratch (kinda)

I would really love for stars to change some of these micro freezeouts such as the plo8 3.30 to turbo format.
These are just so bad for your hourly, you sit there for like 6 hours to ship one for a measly $140 or watever and if you dont make top 2 then its a complete waste of time.

I think the amount of time these things go for stops many people from playing them cause its just not worth it. Infact I think most of the MTT $5 and under should just be turbo then you can quickly get throught that large field and also most of the recreational players are not gonna register for higher stake mtts.

If stars could just add more 08 turbos Pl/Nl MTT that would be just sooo much better then what they have now.

And definatley agree with broken_ jia about the $2R turbo have them on at different times so everyone can play them.
