Except "Splitting pots is not fun for recreational players" is simply not a true statement. (It might be true for some recreational players, but it's
certainly not true for all).
It was so obviously untrue that it wasn't even worth refuting... except that you seem to have bought the false assertion.
And "PLO is way more fun" is also not necessarily true. I personally think
any Omaha-8 is more fun than PLO. It is true, however, that PLO is a more popular game than PLO8, as evidenced by the greater number of tables and the larger participation in PLO forums than this Omaha-8 forum.
Does PLO require more skill than PLO8? I don't know. They're different games. I've played both. I enjoy both. But I prefer Omaha-8.
I do believe "winning o8 players play to scoop."
