Talking $100 to $1000 in 1 week grinding ko's

hi guys!

after a dissapointing tcoop i was so mad i cashed out close to my whole roll. Well since i love Omaha8 and therefor need to play online to get enough action i decided to regroup and grind my roll back up.

after some hypers tilting away money my roll was at $80 with no fpp's left. 18man didnt work either at that point so i decided to play my former main game: the omaha8 ko non turbo sngs.

after 1 session of 20 tables ( 1s and 3s ) i got my roll up to $100. i realized how i used to make steady money and will continue to play these now for a while.

Sng grinders know how mentally challenging these are since they take a) long to fill and b) long to finish. This makes em tough to grind these days, because if u want to have breaks it's very tough to get decent volume.
Also if u runbad and bust out on a fiew bubbles u can't afford to tilt because there will be a lot of sngs u are still playing at levels that demand u to play tight ( unlike turbos where u can just shove while tilting and still probably make a +EV play ).

This is also the reason i posted this on here. I need focus, motivation and huge dedication to make this happen. Put some pressure on myself somewhat.

so challenge is:

reach a roll of 1k til end of next week. since this is about rebuilding, potential BOP winning are also included in my profit as is rakeback ( won't be much anyway ). This week i have no shot for the BOP so i can only hope to hit something the coming w.

i believe it's possible to get up to 1k without BOP and hope i don't need to luckbox some leaderboard to get there.

gameplan:

i will start playing 1.50s and 3.50s until i hit $200 so i can mix in 7s. Im pretty confident in my ko-game and believe this is decent brm for the challenge.
i won't be playing any 15s though since these fill very slow and even if they do my edge decreases which would need me to be tighter in brm.

I hope to hit $200 asap so i can have a shot for next week's BOP in the 7s as well.

I will be playing around 20 tables if possible and will probably do it in sets but play pretty long hours.

Im also gonna play 1-2 live mtt's that week which will get me away from my screen for about 7 hours these days.

if ppl are interested if something like this is possible nowadays with the "R.I.P. Ko's" i will be updating on a daily base. Im interested myself tbh.

We could also use this thread to discuss ko content since there is only a thread for 18man at this point. Feel free to ask whatever u like.

Sry no thread savers im too much of a PC noob

I really love the omaha8 KO 9man sngs, but I gave them up because of the reasons you have listed. I found NLHE sngs to be quite soft and bring me steady profits as well. Its much easier to multi-table as my usual 16 tables fill within a few minutes.

You seem to have the discipline and knowledge to have what it takes to be a winner in these games. Best of luck to you!

Question for you. Are you able to play as many Omaha 8 KO tourneys are you are NLHoldem KO tourneys? I think another thing a competent multitablier is giving up is the # of tables you can properly play. NLHoldem hands are generally much easier to play due to the non-split pot format and fewer playable hands.

Thats very true broken_jia. I never played as many as 16 Omaha 8 KO as once, because they dont fill up so fast, so I cant tell for sure.

But I think you are right, I probably wont be able to play 16 tables omaha8 KO profitably as I do for NLHE due to the limited time I have to think over each hand.

Re: $100 to $1000 in 1 week grinding ko's

thx guys. i guess i need some luck to end this well. will be painful no doubt

just played 13 sngs ( just can't sleep yet ) which is obv not a lot and i will call it a night now. I ran more then aweful which was expected after the good session before that. Lost stuff like AA24 vs KJJ9 preflop 5 handed for 8k chips in a 3.50. Nothing to worry yet, at least i should start decent 2morrow ^^

so my first count:

sngs played: 13
profit/loss: + $0.34

starting roll: $101.84 ( ok not quite 100 )
new roll: $102.18

just another 3000 sessions and i can do this.
rakeback isn't included in my summaries since it's no issue rly. I will just give a nr. on that by the end of the grind.

good night

Just one thing about setting these short term goals. Cause alot of things is actually out of your control during just one week of play.

A better goal, imo, would be "play Xhrs of KOs each day and always make sure i play my A game. If not, ill take a break" and the result will come.

I mean if u increase your bankroll with 500% in just one week, that must be seen as a success, not a failure.

anyway, gl
