Club .10/.25 Omaha/8 of HORSE game - Flopped Nut Straight w/ TP

So this hand came up in .10/.25 HORSE game, 6 handed. Figured I should post here since it's Omaha/8.

UTG ($7.50)
UTG+1 ($5.50)
CO ($1.50)
Button ($7.00)
Hero SB ($21.00) JT98
Villan BB ($10.00)

UTG folds, UTG+1 raises to .20, CO and Button fold, Hero calls, Villain calls

Flop Q98 rainbow

I bet .10, Villan raises .20, UTG+1 folds.

We then go back and forth raising each other with no cap heads up until he is finally all-in. I know he also has JT also since he isn't backing down.

My question is should I have let it go until he was all-in? I flopped the nuts but I also had two pair. We bloated the pot to chop and the rake won. My thought was that I should get him all in since I also had outs to scoop the pot. Most likely were chopping but it would be harder on later streets to get his money in if the 9 or 8 hit. He could have had QQJT which would beat me if the board paired but he was really aggressive and would have reraised preflop with that hand. A runner-runner flush or a hand like KQJT could have hurt too.

Was my thinking correct? Should I get him all-in on a board that we would be chopping and losing money to the rake in hopes of hitting 4 outs?

I get the general idea that you overvalue high hands- Your hand should be folded pre, rundown hands are bad in O8 once you get a few cards below T involved. Also I don't agree with your reasoning that he would have 3-bet QQJT preflop, unless he is a maniac O8 players don't 3-bet hands like that.

Normally it wouldn't be good to put in 90-something raises with a weakish redraw like this, I would usually stop a lot sooner than that personally- but if you know for a fact that he plays every JTXX like this, it's OK. Against a solid player, it would be very bad. I wouldn't be worried about the rake so much as being up against a straight+set which has you crushed.

I would definitely agree with analysis. Of all the HORSE games, O8 is definitely my weakest. I realize that I should be playing hands that go for a scoop. My thought on these types of hands has always been that they can draw well and if the straight draw(s) come then there is less of a chance for a low. I will start cutting hands like this out of my play.

fold pre. these hands should be played in certain situations, SB vs a raise isn't one of them.
uncapped I 5-bet, call a 6-bet.
donk-bet/call if I still have the nuts on the turn or if I fill up.
