Been taking a break from these for the past few weeks to play MTT. Firing them back up for the BOP promotion.

Interesting to read some of the different theories regarding FT stack sizes and shoving. What do people think are decent ROI in these?

i am relatively new at 18-man turbos (played mostly 9-man normal earlier) and its still my so called learning phase. i made 15% ROI in the last 500 games (mixed 1.50s and 3.50s) but i think even 30%+ ROI is obtainable on these limits if you are good. there are a few guys from 2+2 whos SN i know (züri, manndl, broken_jia) they play above the 3.50s and have very impessive stats. maybe they will tell their exact ROIs.

(oh, almost forgot: manndl is not good but lucky)

You need to be more specific. It depends heavily on buy in and amount of tables being played.

i'll answer that for the 3.40s:

around 35% 20 tabling and
around 28% 30+ tabling

sample is good enough. For more infos u need to speak to my lawyer

Edit: i should just stay away from the high volume NLHE grind, since that crushes my roi in a negative way..

..
pretty sure i only had 31% in the 3,40$
and my sample is too small for the 3,50$, plus i usally play only 12-16 s&gs
and i mix 1table,multitable,turbo and non turbo.
i`m on my laptop in switzerland right now and can`t look up my exact stats but my guess is my overall ROI with all buyins in O8 s&g should be around 27%
with not even close your volume
i will be in zürich on saturday perhaps u can show me how u manage such volume with that ROI.
(just kidding will just drive there to get my plane to italy)

Zuri/Any stars regs. You should deposit on bodog and add 4 tables to your grind..... The best sng possible on stars is every sng on bodog. Yes 4table max but they have 10$ plo8 turbos that run regularly during the right hours. Occasionally the 22 runs as well. 40% roi so far but 50 is attainable.

Wtf? How do you check that turn multiway. A CR looks ridonkulously strong and you are relying on only one player, the CO, to bet so you are massively risking value as he likely checks that turn through as well. Bet out. In the end you are checked to again so bet again. You are missing massive value, from weak flushes, weak lows and even sets. Bet, bet bet. Fancy play syndrome. I also bet a little more on the flop but this is minor compared to the turn. I would shoot you for that.

      I concur!

and yeah, flop bet is really awful sizing - I have my presets setup for nlhe and tend to use them in the worst spots for o8.

lol I'd love to use the excuse I was hu in an 8 game mtt at the time, but since I only had 2 tables open ....

No not normally but it depends on BB. You are risking ~50% of your stack should you be called. So lets outline the scenarios. I am assuming the stack sizes posted are pre blinds and antes which I think is how the HH works on Stars.

So hero has 5845. And villain has 2695. Pot is therefore 300+600+250= 1150 before any action.

            1. You shove and pick up blinds and antes. Stack size is 5845+1150= 6995. You still sit second in chips.
            2. You shove and split. Stack size is 5845+(1150/2)= 6420. You still sit second in chips.
            3. You shove and are scooped. Stack size 5845-2695=3150. You sit 4th and are now fighting with BTN to make it to the money.
            4. You fold. Stack size 5845. You still sit second in chips.
            5. You shove and scoop. 5845+1150+2695= 9690. You are now pretty much =1st in chips.

To make a proper ICM decision you need to know how often he calls and what range of hands he calls with, which is beyond my capabilities. Maybe Buzz can extend this. If BB is very tight especially on bubble I will maybe consider a raise/shove. If BB is loose and calls a high % I fold.

I am not aware of an ICM calculator for 08 though. You do however, get an idea of the different scenarios possible with the above. In only one scenario do you vastly increase your equity in the tournament and that is in the least likely outcome-shoving and scooping. Therefore, I will mostly fold.
