Not great for O8 in my opinion

Event 48 is the biggest WTF I've ever seen, 5-card NLO8 turbo zoom, seriously amaya?
03-28-2017 , 08:14 PM
We got a couple pretty good tournaments...

5-card NLO8 is ****ing weird but still, not too bad.

Looking at the schedule all I can think of is "bye bye, bankroll".

Time to come out of retirement and defend my title
03-31-2017 , 02:39 AM
^ that. Minus the retirement part.
Gonna be a big SCOOP. I hope it's a good one. Going to go all out and play everything.

I'm dealing at Dusk or in Manchester for APAT HORSE those days
04-05-2017 , 03:46 PM
Why you not playing the APAT instead?

That's what I'm going Manchester for! Wednesday 12th is the APAT HORSE. I'll be there on the 10th+11th for £2/£4 HORSE cash (yes, an actual limit game in England). Come After 12pm Monday/Tuesday for the cash. HORSE comp starts at 1400 Wednesday.

After that, dealing the PP Millions at DTD.

Nice. Well I wish I would have gone like 3 years ago.
Not really worth if for me anymore tbh :/

Might be going to the Millions, not sure yet. (I live far away)

Wait, there's a live HORSE donkament near where I live? Pity it clashes with work

Do you mean EVERYTHING everything or just all the non holdem stuff?

Playing every single event would be a pretty grueling schedule....

Yeah, pretty much everything
All non-nlhe, plus almost all nlhe events 1k and below, and probably a few of the nlhe 2ks.
04-20-2017 , 02:19 PM
Wow yeah - won't that get pretty tiring?

I mean your UK right? With the two day events you could close out anytime up to 9am then expect to be back grinding for 4pm the next day. That doesn't seem humanly possible to me (at least not day in day out for a month).

But maybe i'm just getting old

Heh, well yes, you're right. It is ****ing tiring. SCOOP is a very tough and intense grind.
It's "only" 2 weeks though, not a month.
Yes I'm in the UK. They never really finish near 9am though. But yeah, other than sleeping and grinding, there's almost no free time.

14 hours playing with starting stack!!! Lets do this

I'm interested in how you keep yourself on top form during this time? I find that around 5 hours poker / day is the most I can manage alongside exercising, eating well, sleeping well and (some) socializing. If I don't manage all this stuff I find I burn out pretty quickly and just can't play my best.....
04-24-2017 , 09:48 AM
Also do you (or anyone else) have a sense of how many runners usually return for the second day of a two day event? A quick calculation estimating runners and assuming a 50bb average stack tells me it's around 15 - 30 runners - does this sound about right? (I'm thinking of the L/M ones here rather than the H which I know has a slower structure...)

Well I'm not going to lie, it's very difficult. I'm semi-used to it by now though. Exercise, a regular good sleep pattern, eating well etc. all help.
The not leaving the house (and not seeing friends) for 2 weeks thing can be hard, mentally, but tbh I've found that even when you get a spare 30 minutes to drive to get some fresh air or go to a shop can help.
And to be frank, you're just not going to play your Absolute A-game in that environment for 2 weeks for like 8-14 hours a day non-stop, it's just not possible. But just try to make the most of it, and play a solid B-game throughout for example.

For the 3 2k FTs that I reached last SCOOP (thinly veiled brag), the first day ended just after the FT was reached. So Day 2 had 6-8 players to start in those 3 cases. I think that was mostly about the case for the Highs, but the mids and lows are quite different, with generally far more. I guess around 30-40 depending on the field size and structure

Solid thinly veiled brag imo! Thanks 4 the info/insight and GL over the next few weeks.
