Quality Sites for omaha hi/lo

I read an article recently that listed Titan Poker, partypoker and Carbon Poker as respectively the 2nd, 3rd and 4th best omaha sites...

Anyone know if these sites are good for omaha hi/lo action and/or if there are other options out there?

Carbon has plo cash games still, but since they dropped all rakeback (oct. 2014?) they have had zero plo8 cash. There are some Turbo SnG and MTTs, but not sure how they compare to before.

In general I'd assume "4th best" is more a reflection on how bad the entire landscape is than how good carbon is.

Re: Quality Sites for omaha hi/lo

Carbon has limit o8 for those who prefer it. Mtts there are small buy-in and pretty soft with fields around roughly 100 players. Sngs used to have tons of volume in the past but went down some after they banned a few of us Don't know whether it was the network(Merge) or just the skin(Carbon). Volume seems to be going back up on there but sngs are capped at $15 now.

Re: Quality Sites for omaha hi/lo

There is someone on swc poker, a small independent network, who sits 4/8 and 6/12 omaha hi/lo limit all day, and will play anyone.

It is decent traffic as far as low and mid stakes omaha goes.

Re: Quality Sites for omaha hi/lo

Winning Poker Network (America's Card Room/Black Chip) has o8 cash games & MTTs.
InterTops (Not sure if they are still on the Cake Netwok) o8.
Chico Network [(Betonline / TigerGaming / Paynorake) Betonline does bitcoin, not sure on other skins.] runs 4+ tables of $1/2 plo8 nightly... They just recently upgraded software to connective games.
Betcoin.ag (IGSOFT software aka same as Winning Poker Network... but I think has a good bit of tables which they do not share with the rest of the network.)

888 - they're trying.
MicroGaming? they might have some.

Pretty much exactly the same as bovada. Very rarely play cash or anything above $25 so can only speak to lowstakes volumes. Havent cashed out yet but you can deposit via methods other than bitcoin.

Can you elaborate on the deposit methods please? When I go to the cashier I only see bitcoin as an available method. I'm looking for just a regular debit like Bovada did.

Edit, I just went to double check it in case there was an update that changed it and it looks like still just Bitcoin as there are no other options on the pulldown menu on that screen.

the cashier in the client shows Amex and Visa as methods along with Bitcoin.

that same page shows 1-855 682 5857 as a 24/7 phone#.

and of course there is an actual thread in the "internet poker" forum, Bovada/Ignition...... for questions like these.

Re: Quality Sites for omaha hi/lo

dont try playing on ignition from a banned state... I tried for Bovada living in nevada... made like 2400 first month, made a 1k withdrawal, they let the 1k withdrawal go thru then banned me and confiscated my funds cos all my IP logins were from NV.... And use of proxy servers to mask IP is against terms of service so doubt u will get away with that either.

You are the second person now to say it shows Visa as an option. I wonder why mine only shows Bitcoin? I transferred my Bovada account to Ignition instead of just signing up on a new account. Might that be the reason? I'm working on using Bitcoin so I don't think it would be a big deal even though a Bitcoin deposit appears to be about 10 day lead time.

Maybe screen shot it?

Re: Quality Sites for omaha hi/lo

I don't think anyone has any good info on ignition yet since it's a new platform, but based on everything going on in the US-facing market I'd definitely suggest going the bitcoin route if at all possible for you. It might be a bit of a hassle getting it set up at first, but it's worth it. Usually one bitcoin deposit will unlock withdraws using that method. Depositing with a card will unlock withdrawing by check and possibly bank wires depending on a few factors, mainly your BR it seems but this may have changed lately.

Firstly most sites don't charge withdraw fees for bitcoin, or its at least lower. And you get them much faster than checks. The standard seems to be roughly 4-6 weeks on average for checks and during bad times this can double(gl requesting a withdraw right after the superbowl lol). Unless the site is having problems, bitcoin comes in a matter of days usually. And when the sites themselves get low on bitcoin, they offer some sweet bitcoin-only reload bonuses with pretty high limits.

One important thing to note is these sites aren't directly focused on poker, they are a sportsbook first and foremost. Poker is just an afterthought to them and they pretty much despise long-term winners, it's common for them to try to make things as difficult as possible once they flag you. If you aren't a big winner there or even just don't play there often, they're pretty awesome though. They will send free mtt buy-ins and sports bets randomly.

This is a good point and I wouldn't be surprised if this is the answer I was looking for. It looks like it is going to take about 10 days for my bank request to hit Coinbase to which then I will transfer to electrum and then to Ignition.

No Delaware is our family home but Pennsylvania house is our house where we keep our horses so we stay at the farm house usually. But originally I listed DE as my official house.

It has tax benefits but annoying for online poker, I have a lot to learn out here obviously

Bitcoin is awesome. As someone mentioned, getting all set up with a wallet and initially obtaining Bitcoin (if you are looking to deposit new funds) is a hassle, but after that it is very convenient.

Due to the quasi-legal nature of online poker in the States, Bitcoin is easier for the site to use because they don't need to worry about banks receiving large deposits from "sketchy" sources. Transactions done in Bitcoin cannot be monitored by the authorities and are therefore done quicker and smoother.

I've been looking at my options for bitcoin deposit. I am happy I can buy and sell bitcoin but I am not happy about how much it will cost me. How much is everybody paying for their bitcoin? My best options seem to be 5-13% commission for buying and 1-2% for selling - unless I go through all the stuff to be a bitcoin seller, then I can earn 5-13% from selling to break even on purchase.

This is only half-true. To buy or sell bitcoin more than about $350 in a single transaction I must verify my bitcoin account (email, passport, utility, bank account). To buy and sell at the best rate I must also verify, so, there is a full paper trail from my bank account - bitcoin wallet - ACR - bitcoin wallet - bank account. I happen to know that in many jurisdiction (ESPECIALLY THE USA) that such activity on bank accounts will lead to at least cursory investigation.

I should point out it is 100% possible for authorities to monitor bitcoin through the bitcoin networks. The only way to conceal actual activity is to use a tumbling service (fee 1-3% if not built in to website) and ensure that all wallet addresses are randomised and unique for each transaction. For example if FBI raids ACR they will have access to all historic bitcoin transactions, the same as they did with SR1 and other sites. So if you are American (or other) and using "ordinary" bitcoin to play ACR from non-legal state, you are taking huge risk for your funds and your own legal status. Do it all correctly though and you can play ACR or any other bitcoin site from any jurisdiction

The withdrawal procedure for bitcoin should be instantaneous. That it takes several days for bitcoin withdrawal should be red flag as unlike normal currency, bitcoin often has large swings. It is stable lately but the reports I read suggest bitcoin is currently over-valued and due to experience a reverse on gains made this year. That means you could cash out on wednesday and by the time you get processed on monday you could lose 5-10% on normal circumstance and 10-35% with bad timing. This is exactly why bitcoin transactions on almost all sites are instantaneous (30 min delay for verification within bitcoin network)

Anyway I would be happy for someone to tell me better ways of buy and sell bitcoin

For anyone else trying to deposit on ACR - I was given options for Visa, Mastercard and VbV (verified by visa the thing most of us are looking for). With advice from ACR I contact my bank to try and remove international restriction on payment processor. My bank gave me another number to ring and those people told me to write to my bank stating who I want to pay and how much I want to deposit. On giving details (the strange name that my VbV declined) my bank refused to authorise funds. I assume it is also difficult to withdraw with normal cards but has anyone from Europe or Canada been successful with this? thanks
