I'm actually excited to see some of these videos. If the first part of your series is tentatively scheduled to come out on Sept 23 then how long will we have to wait for each follow up segment? I believe Predator said Stox would be releasing one video from him each month.

The question is Kuso, is how I am gonna get paid? I have 3 banks, one yesterday called me on vacation to let me know my account has been closed due to checks suspectedly from online gambling. Something to look forward to when I get back on Tuesday.

Do you mind saying which bank shut you down for depositing checks they suspected were from online gambling? Which site(s) were the checks from?

On second thought, why were you withdrawing checks to begin with? I thought only winning players did that...

Dan's first video will debut September 23rd, and mine will debut September 30th, with Predator's sometime in October I assume.

A little about me:

I've been playing card games since the age of 3. When kids the same age were being taught 'Go Fish', I was being taught Gin and 5-card Draw Poker by my Grandpa.

My Grandpa hosted games quite often at his house and everytime I came over I would pick them up and learn them. Soon I had learned many more games such as Stud, Chinese Poker, MahJongg, and Euchre among others.

I was able to take little things from each different game and apply them to a wider strategy in new games that I was partaking. It was how I made the smooth transition from grinding 2/4nl and 20/40 limit holdem into succeeding in Omaha Hi/Lo games.

Taking what I had learned from previous games, I was able to develop special strategies and counter-strategies for Omaha Hi/Lo and soon moved from playing 5/10 limit in November of 2007 to 100/200 limit rather quickly. I've since settled down and focus on playing 15/30 limit.


The majority of my O8 hands of the past couple years. I did actually lose in some levels and some are tuned down a lot because of flipping or drunken grudge matches with friends.

A good chunk is HU. A lot of it is mixed in, so I wouldn't take those stats too seriously.

My name is Dan Deppen, and I'm campfirewest on Full Tilt. I don't know if we've played together much or not. I've played primarily lower stakes across different sites. In the last 6 months or so I've been playing PLO instead of PLO8 since I got done with the book. I think they hired me to do the video series based on my book and some sample videos I made. I don't play full time, and do a lot of other things. My background is in mechanical engineering, so my video series will focus more on the math of the game and how it compares to other games like hold'em and PLO. Hope that helps!

O.K. I think I have all three Omaha-8 training video threads merged together. My first reaction is, "What a mess."

Turns out there's more than one individual making these things and everybody who is involved wants suggestions. We'll see how this thread evolves. I may end up locking this thread and starting a new one, just for suggestions for training videos.
