So I will be playing in a small buy in tourney. I am assuming I should play somewhat like a NL Holdem tourney. Tight the first levels of 20 minute blinds and loosen up a little to steal on the button, or is button stealing not as common in O8. I searched for strat on 2+2 but was not finding anything. Any advice is always appreciated. Have a great weekend.

Image should be really low on your list of concerns for a small stakes mtt, most of the players will be quite weak, I recommend going in guns blazing and playng agressive throughout, if players are afraid to tangle with you in marginal spots at the later levels that will be a huge advantage

Okay thank you for the advice. I was going to use the low buy in live tourney as education. I hope to someday play in bigger buy ins. I just don't have a lot of tourney experience. I play a lot of cash, but that is a different game of course.

It is FL with blinds going up every 20 minutes. From my understanding it will be an older crowd, for example 50 and above. Should be interesting.

Yep! To make it worse, I got a super old dealer ,who dealt super slow and could not read the low. It sucks when you have to tell the dealer the low. But hey I made it to the final table. All old people who wanted to chop. They wanted to get to the buffet. So I agreed. Since I only had 6000 in chips and the blinds were 1500/3000. I did have fun though. I will try again. Are higher buy in limit 08 tourneys the same. Do they have the same problem at WSOP? After all they need lots of dealers, I cant imagine every dealer is good at dealing O8.

Despite all the rookie dealers you see every year the ones I've seen in the WSOP O8 are pretty competent.
