Sure can but the best way of finding out is by using the Poker App "Bravo". It has real time live statistics for what games are running at any given time along with other information such as waiting list, amount of tables etc.

Hope that helps

By the way, does anyone know if there is any way of receiving a notification once someone comments on a post I commented on?

Thanks!

SEATTLE, WA (Renton specifically)

Fortune Poker Room (new, rebranded Freddie's / Diamond Lil's)

Games:
-4/8 full kill, starts @ 12 PM, Mon-Wed-Fri. Usually goes a bit earlier after tournament bustouts (8:30 AM hold 'em tournament)
-15/30 kill, starts @ 3 PM, Mon-Wed-Fri

Rake is capped at $3 and there's a $3 max jackpot drop as well. From 12 PM - 12 AM Mon-Wed-Fri there's $250/hr high hand for all O8 tables. If you do the math and assume you win at the same rate all other players do (not really true since you play fewer hands than fish, but for this purpose it's good enough) the high hand EV is about neutral at 3 tables, which is common in the afternoon (2 at 4/8, 1 at 15/30). So a $3 rake is pretty good, and the high hand promo brings in tons of terrible players.

List for 4/8 fills by 11 AM, and no call ins are allowed. Game is very good - better than most low-limit games I've played - and plays about 6/12 on average given the full kill.

List for 15/30 fills by noon, and since only one table goes with a lot of the same regs, you gotta arrive early and play 4/8 or hang out in the meantime. Game is average to good. Couple real big dickheads in the game who are borderline verbally abusive.

Room itself is very nice - remodeled older casino that went bankrupt. Lots of TVs with AppAudio so you can listen to each TV with your smartphone, USB ports built into every seat at the table (bring your own cable), and dealers are mostly competent/fast. Food isn't great, breakfast is OK, comp is pretty bad (50% off food only).

The 4/8 LO8 at JACK Cleveland (formerly Horseshoe Cleveland) now runs regularly on Fridays and Saturdays (and possibly more?). It runs a little different than I'm used to--the blinds are 1-2 with a $4 bring-in, kill goes to 6-12 if I remember correctly.

Also, they have a bad beat jackpot that starts out at quad 8's or better ($18,800 as of right now).

My assessment of this game was that it was very friendly and casual, not too difficult, with most of the players knowing each other. I apparently stuck out like a sore thumb being the newbie to the game. For a while, all but myself and one other guy were the only ones under 50-60 y/o before a couple (not good) action guys came in.

One other note--the dealers (and surprisingly even the players) were pretty bad about assessing the low. In the short amount of time I played, 3 times pots were about to be pushed to the wrong person or split when they shouldn't have been and I was the only person who pointed out the errors. I'm not even including the other times when other people noted the incorrect payouts.

The 15/30 half kill at the Venetian moved to Bellagio and became a 20/40 half kill. Regulars and all. Two things precipitated this: 1. A regular ("Batman") was kicked out of Venetian and 2. Venetian reduced their comps from $2/hr to $1/hr.

There is a Clarion Hotel next door to Fortune that will give you a poker rate at around $100/night. Under $300/week in that area seems like it might be tough, but that's just an opinion with no data behind it.

Great report! Just wanted to add data for the 15/30 (20/40kill) O8 game. There's now a Saturday game starting at 3pm as well. I can only speak for the Friday (also 3pm) and Saturday game, but you can call-in sign up starting at 8am and these two games stay full all night and go well in to the morning. Also, there is no jackpot rake at the 15/30 game. $3 max rake on a 15/30 is pretty sweet.

I think new room at Fortune is the best in the Seattle area and everyone else must think so because it draws a lot of players.

Ah. (I see).

Click on the following link:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/22...617-a-1348001/

The deal about offering or soliciting staking on 2+2 forums is all staking deals belong in the staking forum, a sub-forum (I think) of the Marketplace forum. When you have a thread in the staking forum, there's a sticky thread in this forum where you can post a link to your thread in the staking forum.

I imagine you'll have no difficulty finding players who would like to be staked to play in the 40/80 game on pokermania. The trick, I imagine, is finding winners and not getting scammed or cheated.

At any rate, the proposals and counter-proposals involved in reaching an agreement belong on the staking forum (or sub-forum, if that's what it is), or in private correspondence, rather than on the Omaha-8 forum.

I'm not sure what to do about the various posts you've made on this forum up to this point. I'll probably delete them, no offense intended.

Bay 101 San Jose.
(Not listed on Bravo)

20/40 with half kill. Runs Wednesdays (5pm) and Sundays (1p). Call ahead.

This Wednesday there were two tables running and the game lasted till the next day.

There might be a 40/80 game building up in 2017.

The 8/16 HK variant runs daily and almost never dies.

Games have a $7 drop on a full table and $2 with 5 players or fewer.

Are there any PLO8 or Big-O action in California?
And where can I find the same action in Vegas during WSOP?

Cheers

In my observation, the prime spot for stake variety on both is at the WSOP cash games at the Rio. They will usually have 5-5, 5-10, 10-25, 25-50 and +/- higher (200-400 through 800-1600) depending on what event is running for both PLO8 and BigO8.

Aside from that, during the series you can usually find a 2-5 or 5-10 on PLO or NL Big O | 9-18 or 12-24 on FL BigO/O8 of either at Venetian or Wynn - somewhat less consistent at Aria. Other rooms they may pop up on occasion, but with much less consistency. Most rooms that would have it are on BRAVO.

Orleans is pretty consistent with an FL O/8 at 4-8 and 8-16; sometimes will sit a Big O table.

Caesars fielded a 1-1 PLO game daily at the Linq last year, but the "poker room" is closed now and may or may not return this summer. Perhaps they field this game again at Harrahs?

Would love to hear others' observations as well.

It currently kills to $10/$20 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN, and there is a somewhat regular $40/$80 mix which includes Big O, or O8.
Seems like a good decision. I played in it in 2012 after posting that question, when it killed to $9/18, and the $1 chips were very awkward.

UPDATES
Hollywood Park has a semi-regular $20/40 HK OE and semi-regular $40/80 no kill O8. From what I can tell, much of the player pool is the same. I don't think they both go each night, but it seems like one or the other is usually going starting late afternoon, and sometimes both are in action.

HP also has a 6/12 limit big O8 game that seems pretty consistent from what I can tell.

Seattle: $15/30 third-kill LO8 at Fortune Renton. I think Fridays and maybe Saturdays. I don't know whether the Monday game survived.

Fortune also has a $15/30 mix on Wednesdays that includes LO8 as well as stud 8, triple draw, razz, and perhaps others.

Hideaway Shoreline still has $4/8 hk as a daily staple, with $6/12 (10/20 kill) on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 6/12 HORSE on Saturdays.

As for Omaha high, multiple PLOish games have sprung up lately in response to a legal change allowing higher limits in non-tribals. Hollywood and Fortune, both Shoreline, have different versions of PLO going different times on Wednesdays. I'm not sure if the legal max bet is $100 or $300. Fortune started as $60 max with PLO/PLO8 rounds but now is only PLO high, $100 max.

Quick update:

Bike's 12/24 EO still runs everyday but no more 20/40 on weekends.

Hawaiian Gardens now also has a 12/24 EO game that runs around the clock. So now the 8/16 Big O game gets less tables.

Commerce now has both Big O and O8 @ 4/8.

I'm planning a Vegas trip in August and looking to play low-limit O8 (4/8 - 8/16). Last time I was there (a few years ago), I stayed and played at the Venetian. What happened to Omaha there? And where did the games migrate? I'd prefer to stay on the strip. Thanks in advance for the help!

Orleans. I think the only regular Omaha on the strip now is Bellagio and that's 20-40.

And what happened to the Venetian in general? (still relevant to the topic of the thread)
  • They started out by destroying their LHE action with a stupid, nitty blind structure in 15/30--that was talked to death on 2+2 several years ago.
  • Then somehow the healthy 15/30 LO8 became the Bellagio 20/40 I suppose, and possibly also the 20/40 action at the Series.
  • And now they've apparently killed their bread and butter 4/8 and 8/16 LO8 games.

They've turned into mostly the 1-2 NL, 2-5 NL room you'd expect to find in a 10-table poker room in the Midwest. Did Uncle Sheldon decide poker was a waste of space so they're trying to kill it off?

Muckleshoot (WA) has had multiple tables (3-4) of $4/$8 OE full kill running the past few weeks. It got more popular once they cut back their Hold Em high hand payouts to $100 (except for Thursdays). OE has a $100/30min high hand as well, and they started dropping a third JP dollar a couple of weeks ago.

Will be in Vegas Thu 4/6/17 through Sat 4/8/17 and basically it is Bellagio or Orleans? I'm just playing for fun this trip and it sounds like a bunch of regulars at the Bellagio and nits at the Orleans so is it even going to be enjoyable? I don't mind donating some $ if I can learn a few lessons along the way but I am not really interested in being bored.

Is the Bellagio still super cramped quarters because my friend will be tagging along to watch a little. How about space to sit behind at the Orleans?

This was one of the reasons the 4-8 and 8-16 at the Venetian was not too bad because they have decent food/drinks and lots of space.

I visited the Orleans a week ago and played three short sessions of $8/$16 O8. Yes, the games were very nitty. It seemed like lots of retired and semi-retired regs, plus a few younger players who might've been pros. Almost everyone was very serious; with a few notable exceptions, there was not much joking or raising preflop and very little discussion of hands.

On the plus side, they had two to four $8/$16 games going each time I went, plus some $4/$8 games (both high-low and high only) that I didn't pay much attention to.

And the games were beatable; I booked three small wins. The main adjustment I made (in response to the overall nittiness) was to semibluff a lot on the flop and turn, especially when everyone checked to me.

As for space, I saw a few watchers sitting behind, but the tables themselves were 10-handed and awfully cramped. The chairs have these wide, five-armed wheeled bases, and when I was sitting in seats 4-7, a player next to me would sometimes have to slide his chair out before I could slide my chair in—the wheeled bases kept bumping into each other.

I didn't play at the Bellagio, but one player I sat next to at the Orleans remarked that the $8/$16 games there were much tougher than the $20/$40 game at the Bellagio.

For food at the Orleans, I recommend the gourmet pub fare at Bailiwick.

Updating the central/southwest Ohio region since it has changed recently...

JACK Cincinnati - the Friday 6/12 LO8 game moved to Ruggles in Dayton, the 3/6 LO8 HK on Saturdays is hit or miss but mostly miss lately

The Ruggles Club (Dayton) - 6/12 LO8 HK on Tuesday evenings (1 table), 6/12 LO8 HK on Fridays starting around 3 pm with a second table regularly starting by 7 pm (second table usually fills up with a list of 5 or so waiting) ... $20 club fee to play, no rake after that

Shark Tank Poker Club (Columbus) - 10/20 LO8 HK on Sunday evenings (starts around 7 pm) .... there is also a 20/40 HORSE game on Wednesdays that obviously includes LO8 ... $20 club fee to play, no rake after that

Hollywood Columbus - 4/8 LO8 HK rarely runs on the weekends and frankly only if there is no promo going on that is dumping money in the NLHE tables .... there is a "scheduled" 4/8 LO8 HK game on Sundays at 4 pm but is hit or miss .... there is also a "scheduled" 10/20 mix game that includes O8 on Tuesdays starting at 2 pm (more likely to get started around 4-5 PM if/when it does)
