Hero is BB, with A2QK 42,869 in chips

Hero covers opponents (each have approx. 30k)

Blinds are 500/1k, we're 6 handed

folds to CO, CO calls

Buttons raises to 4500

Hero calls, CO calls

(Pot, 14k)

Flop K94
Hero bets pot (24k behind or 10k effective behind after my bet)

How'd I do

Fine. I think you have to pot-bet this flop. Buttons could have aces, and if he calls, I think he's representing aces... at least you'll know. But, depending on Buttons, it's more likely he doesn't have aces and you need to put some pressure on him.

Keep in mind that amok and some others think I should never respond to pot-limit questions... and they're probably right... but this looks like a tournament and I like your line of play.

Pretty poor play imo, as Buzz kinda guessed.

Pre obv 3-bet imo, not much to discuss as we are only 30bb deep. You don't mention if we are far away from money though.

On the flop you are potting into two players and forcing out all the weaker hands and forcing all the better hands to continue. I'd definitely start with a check or a very small bet.

3 bet pre.

Check flop as played.

Agree that 3bet pre is right, also as played x/call or c/jam, when we bet we only fold out better, we might as well try to get worse hands to fire a bullet

hahaha welllll the situation was I was drinking pretty heavily last night, and preflop I ran to the fridge to grab a beer. It seems a pretty obvious 3B pre now, with a clear mind.

Are we always getting it in if one of them pots after I check the flop? I guess I don't see us folding probably just being results oriented.

We were still a ways from the money, it was 18 paid with like 40 remaining.

What kind of hands do you think they are potting the flop with, assuming these stacks? If you think it's never anything worse than AK, just c/f I guess. Also note how silly potting this flop is (at least with these shallow stacks), as so many hands whiffed completely, so a half pot bet (or smaller) should accomplish roughly the same thing and makes bluffing a lot more profitable.
