How to play top set in Big O How to play top set in Big O

I find having just top set in Big O to be one of the trickier hands to play.
Live 2-2 Big O. Villain 1 has 1100, Villain 2 has 450-500, and Hero covers. 6 players see a flop for $10 plus blinds, so pot is $65.

Hero has AKK92. Flop is Kc Js 2c. We don't have clubs. Villain A pots for 65. Villain B calls. Hero has 2 players yet to act. Do we pot here?

What if the flop were Kc 3s 2c? Does this change our decision at all? We have top set and virtually no low draw (like the first example), but there are sooo many more low options with the second board.

Trying to learn this game, so any and all advice (as well as criticism) is welcomed.

Don't know if I'm doing anything aside from just calling. Repotting the flop drives out everything but the strongest draws. If a 3,4,5,6, or 7 falls on the turn, I'm happy to ram and jam, and if the board pairs... Well, I need to see how the others react, but I'm probably paying off quads.

Also, just calling in case 2, as well. Possibly folding if a raising war breaks out.

With 5 hole cards, i would want to have all outs live. That duece not only is a blocked out, it wrecked our low hand. Im not gii here, barely a call. Im no expert, full disclosure....

pretty sure i flat looking for a nice turn. i mean it could be argued for just going ham on the flop but that doesn't mean i agree with it.

if i'm not raising flop in hand 1 then i'm for sure not raising hand 2 either. i mean i'm saying i just flat but i can't say i have enough experience in 5 card to know what kind of equities i'm going up against, on average

like i'd never really think to fold in hand 2 at first glance. but at 550 stacks effective, if action went something like bet > raise and you're thinking you're up against someone who's rolling with FD/wheel wrap++? hard to feel good about staying involved.

Board texture and stack depth dependent.

As long as you are not stacking off with only top set on LLL flop, then it's not too bad. HLL flop, I like to at least have gutter with it to stack off on flop. Obv with nut low, always happy to GI "IN" . Otherwise play turn card.

Responding to your specific examples with AKK92:

Embrace variance and Re-pot on KJ2 flop. If other big stack ships turns that don't pair board, then fold.
Marginal call on K32 flop.

Completely agree with above. Jam KJ2 flop, just call K32. You are gonna scoop the KJ2 more often so its obv a way better flop to push

Top set on HLL is imo far from "marginal call". It's a good hand, but that doesn't mean you need to try to get all the money in asap.

Top set on HHL is a much stronger hand, but it's way more likely that others whiffed (i.e. it's way more likely bettor is just taking a stab) and our hand doesn't need that much protection. We can always raise turns for protection/value.

So flatting makes a lot of sense in both spots (that doesn't mean it's always the best play though), but for entirely different reasons.
