Considering your cashes, I'd imagine you have enough roll to play some of those games, or get staked.

Well, firstly the bankroll boost was obviously a pretty new thing, and I was just grinding other WSOP tournaments afterwards, so I didn't really have time for cash.
And honestly, I've never really been one for taking shots at big cash games. The money still matters to me. Although yes I could sell some for them if I wanted to.
And as I said before, my winrate is going to be higher at stakes lower than those that you mention, which I often feel is just more +life EV, with the lower variance and stress.

Funnily though there's a random German Wikipedia page on me. No idea who made it.

So much this. Making steady money with less stress >>>>>>>> Stroking your ego.

You seem to be a really nice guy who has his head on straight. All the best, sir!

Congrats Benny on all the success.

If you were to start putting effort into getting better at mixed games, what order would you work on the games, assuming that your current skill was the same in each. In other words, what games do you think are more important to put time into?

What type of music do you play/write?

Thanks man.
It depends on a number of things. Mainly, what games run most and what games are softest. Like live or online different games are popular and in different areas for live games. For example generally Stud games don't run very often. So even though it may be easier to become very good in those games than in others, I would probably choose something else.
My friend actually asked me this same question recently, and he concluded that FLO8 was the next game that he would spent the most time in to learning now. Because that's basically the game that runs enough, and is generally softer than other games that run like LHE, where edges are generally smaller than FLO8.
Also I think it depends on personal preference, and skill set. Like personally I find 2-7 TD and 2-7 SD much more fun than Stud games. So if everything was equal I would maybe suggest 2-7, if games ran often.
Another example is that some people may just innately prefer or be naturally better at big bet games than limit games, like I know some people who hate limit and find it too boring.

Generally rock music, kind of all variants of it (hard rock, classic rock, metal, instrumental, some post-rock etc.), or guitar-based music.
Though unfortunately I haven't really had the time to write much in a while, but am endeavoring now to try and give some more time to get back into it.

Any 2-7 tips? Particularly re: bluffing and/or snowing.

I am also a little curious about 2-7, especially NL Single Draw. It seems to be a really "pure" poker game, with lots of psychology and bluffing opportunities. The cards almost don't matter at all until showdown. Would you agree at all with this?

I am keen to hear Hero's answers on 2-7. From my limited experience in each, it seems like NL27SD is more of an art, while FL27TD is more of a science.

Well if you know some basic game theory then you can transfer it over to here pretty reasonably.

Yeah I guess this is a fair analogy if you wanted one like this.

I would not agree with the second part of this. The cards definitely matter, in more ways than one.
But yes I agree with the bold part. It is a very pure poker game (arguably the purest), and there is lots of room for creativity and ways to be skillful in it in general. Imo that's why it's so fun and interesting, and most/all who try playing it tend to be interested by it.

What do you think about all the tournament wizards open limping the button at certain stack depths? I think one of them mis clicked and did it once and didn't want to admit it so he claimed it was high level and everyone copied it.

Haha. I actually like it, I do it myself sometimes. Also sometimes from other positions, but yeah it's very dependent on stack depth and the situation (and your hand).

Well my favourite bands are Alter Bridge, Biffy Clyro and Fang Island. The first 2 are also 2 of my favourite performers, and I've seem them 4-5 times each live (the 3rd would be a favourite but I haven't seen them yet unfortunately). As well as guys like Muse, Metallica, Iron Maiden, RHCP, each that I've seen multiple times and are all amazing live.

Do you think music is sorta solved in some ways... kinda like NLHE is?

Um, care to elaborate? Kind of a strange comparison.
You mean how we're not that likely to get any radically new genres or song structures or melodies that will be popular?
Like microtonal and other scales with different/extra notes type stuff might never popular (outside of Asia) in western music.

Random, strange comparisons are a specialty of mine.

Basically, yes. At least that such innovations and masterpieces would be much fewer and farther between, whether in music or Hold Em.

That's a good point. Any thoughts on 432 Hz vs. 440 Hz. tuning?

Yeah, pretty much agree.

I didn't really know anything about this. I just googled it, I thought it would be comparable to E flat tuning, but apparently it's a very nitty audiophile thing hehe. I might read it a bit later, but it seems like a very small thing that's a fancy detail.

Ha, nice. I saw Biffy Clyro in the States, as well as Muse and Metallica. Always wanted to see Maiden and the Chili Peppers too.

Yeah I highly recommend if you ever get a chance.
Especially if it's a gig of their own rather than a festival, as it's extra amazing with their crowds.

How much work have you done on NLSD27? I feel like a "gto" solution is fairly reachable in this game but I lack a lot of the heart due to the amount of value in the game.
wtf is your stars name?
Is the series really worth it in terms of hourly? I estimate I'd need to play at least $3k in buyins a day to make it worthwhile and that seems like a bit of a ballache and a significant financial investment.
Do you talk much with Adam Owen and Kashmir Uzi (I think they are friends from seeing them hang around in Prague but i really have no clue)?
It is really **** as a tournament player that I see your results from this year and just automatically assume luckbox :P Do you think you have ran good in your poker life so far? In the WSOP?

Sick to see an English crusher, congrats.

Well now I'd say that yes, I've definitely ran good in my poker life so far, and obviously especially good in the WSOP.
(You can see my results from last year too, but if it makes you feel better, my first year of the WSOP in 2014 I bricked everything.) I think online I've run around near-ish expectation now after SCOOP. (ran really badly in COOPs until then and eh in cash.)

Yeah I'm good friends with both of them. And yeah they are good friends. I've talked a ton with Adam, not much with Uzi.
All 3 of us had a couple of nuts Vegas nights/mornings this year. Those 2 both enjoy a good old degen sesh .

I've put a lot of work into NL SD 2-7. (Quite a bit with Adam.) It's one of my better games at this point (and especially is vs the fields).
Yeah I think a GTO solution can be reached relatively easily in quite a few spots, but there's still definitely some room for creativity etc.

Well it depends exactly what you want out of the series. If it is only about the money, then yes it may be more +EV to just stay at home and grind online.
Yes, it obviously is a huge financial investment either way.
Personally I view it as many things. For one thing money, for another thing, if there's a chance to bink huge then it's amazing, and can likely be life-changing. Another thing is just the prestige and glory of it factors into it a little. It's the f'ing World Series, what better place to bink something?
Also there are just things like the social aspect of it that I enjoy. Like meeting friends that you haven't seen in a while, as well as potentially meeting a bunch of new poker players, ones that you admire etc. And obviously everyone is together in one place. (Although granted there can be some social downsides of it.)
You can also potentially view it partly as a holiday - as I did my first year to justify some of the expense. For example maybe spend a couple of extra days there, sight-seeing, relaxing in the Sun, going out with friends or whatever you want.

You have to play well and run well to bink a WSOP tourney, and most likely do at least one very well.

With only one round of post-flop betting, I would think it one of the easiest games to solve.

Sorry for the delay guys. Please do continue to ask questions though if you want.
I've been in Spain and very busy (I had to change flat twice, and also played the Estrellas Main Event, which I'm chip leading in going in to Day 2, so there's that).

Think about things like the ante structure, like you can limp more there. Just be aware of upcards, try and remember them, and also about people's potential ranges and things like stealing likelihood etc.

Although those did used hold some prestige for me back in the day, when I was playing lower stakes, and before Stars ****ed them.
