FTPDoug said they will be discussing this. I can't imagine why they wouldn't do it if it came to the table.
They don't want to divide the O8 player pool up anymore by adding a different twist on the game. I believe that is the reason ante PLO8 tables don't exist right now.

Pretty much. There are few enough tables as it is. Some people are selective and only sit if a table meets certain criteria. This adds another factor, as i can see several people not liking antes and decide to wait for a non-ante table to open up or not play and vice versa. Now they'd need a specifically non-ante table with a certain players per flop percentage, average pot, 7 or 8 seats occupied, and a good idiot-to-predator06 ratio.

More or less.
For example, hold 'em has hundreds of players. If half those players prefer no antes, and the other half prefer antes, there would be no problem with starting tables and keeping tables running.
However, PL/NL O8 has far fewer players. It's hard enough the way it is to have any tables running over 1/2. I think they're afraid that if they split the player pool into players who like antes and players who don't, it will be even harder to have tables running.
