Home game, 1/2 blinds, 100 buy in/add on, non raked, half NLHE/half PLO8...game is very loose.

About 3 hours into session, I'm totally card dead but only down about 40 from first buyin...other players have 300-1000 (like I said, very loose!).

Am dealt A48K, suited K. Early player raises to 7, I call in cutoff...fyi, i think everyone else called...BB (maniac, clueless) raises to 35. He's very easy to read...when silent, he has a good hand (I read him for A2xx), two callers and to me...

I consider folding, but frankly am really bored and feel like gambling...through a mix up, table won't allow me to go all in for 21 more. (They claim it was a string raise...).

4-5 people see the flop.

Flop: 789, one diamond/two clubs.

SB (very predicable) bets 40, BB raises to 200, MP (very loose) calls...action to me.

I read SB for a straight, and BB for nut low...MP probably has a flush draw/low draw/straight draw combo (not nuts). A lot of these reads are based on physical and verbal tells (some players will essentially call out their hands)...we play once a week for years together.

Do I need to throw in my remaining 21 with 4th best low, single pair, and backdoor flush?

I suppose you call.

More importantly, however, is that you wanna be careful getting alot of money in preflop with any hand that has an 8 (or 7/9) in it as it makes your hand much less valuable than if you have a wheel or broadway card in stead.

I agree...but the players don't know how to play PLO8 at all. For example, players will stack off with a king high flush draw when a wheel flops, or call a pot sized bet with a set when three low cards flop....i have yet to see a player fold ANY full house, and often they will call a good bet with a flush on a paired board (or even worse, call to hit a flush on a paired board!)

In this hand, my reads were dead on...SB had j10, BB had A2, and MP had A34 with two clubs.

Of course, two running diamonds come, with the Ace on the river (counterfeiting the BB...another concept people don't understand!).

This post could have ended with ... "I consider folding, but frankly am really bored and feel like gambling.... "

So gamble and call.

If you want critical analysis of the hand, fold pre-flop for $7 and get your money in good when someone else is "bored and feels like gambling".
