RIP Buzz.
Really appreciated the amount of time and effort you put into this subforum.
Wish I could have met you at one of the live meetups.

RIP Buzz, he many times sent me a PM to explain a probability problem or add analysis to a hand. One of those people you just have to have to make these forums really work.

Sad news. You could always count on Buzz to give a friendly, thoughtful analysis to any hand you posted, even in games he admitted he didn't know much about.

RIP Buzz

Several years ago I discovered the beautiful game... I played cards all my life. My father taught us blackjack, poker, euchre, spades, hearts, etc. as soon as my brother and I were old enough to play, we played. Something to pass the time.

During the Boom I learned NLH, of course, sort of. I am a fish and I enjoy playing it but there was something missing. The gut-wrenching variance of PLO is too much for me, except when I'm feeling the gambool of course. Then it happened... O8. The beautiful game.

I became an unseen disciple. I learned the beautiful game from him. I never met the man. I lurked. I lurked. I lurked some more. I could only hope that I grew at the feet of that giant of a man.

There were times where I would read Buzz's posts and think, "Why is this guy spending so much time, analyzing, reasoning, responding to these donks?" Some berated him, disrespected him, called his style of play outdated, obsolete.

You know how he would respond? Like a man, a most giving man.

Peace be with you in the afterlife and your family this one Sir.

Really sad news. He was clearly an asset to this forum. He was very kind, and had infinite time for people and with providing help to newcomers.
I had the pleasure of meeting him in person 2-3 years ago.
R.I.P. Buzz. You will be missed.

RIP Buzz.

While I never met him in person, Buzz was instrumental in helping me transition from playing only LHE to learning O8.

A very sad day for the forum, he was truly an asset for helping others who wanted to learn O8.

Buzz was an old school and classic gentleman. His posts were very thoughtful and articulated, giving this forum a great appeal. In a way, I had an affinity to it just because of him.

RIP Sir, you will be missed immensely.

RIP Buzz. Your passion and love for this game was evident in every post you made on this forum and also the dedication you put into running various sub-forums here on 2p2 for quite some time.

Thoughts are with his family at this time.

The Magazine articles are retired after 6 months, and no mod would have the ability to do this. It might not be possible to revive them for technical or even copyright reasons, but I'll ask Mason.

Hi agamblerthen:

2+2, unlike many other poker sites, returns back to the authors all rights to articles after six months. Thus we don't have the right to repost these articles even though I'm sure Buzz would have been happy to let us use them again.

Best wishes,
Mason

Well that's a shame, but I understand. I suppose they would belong to his family now. I feel lucky to have been able to read them back when they were released.

I didn't know Buzz, but he always took the time to read EVERY post and offer his expert advice. He always responded when called upon for advice. We lost a guru. Sorry to hear that he is gone, but I aspire to be as studious as Buzz was, a true student of the game.

I play a fair amount of 08 but don't contribute as much as I should. Of all of the posters, buzz was the best to the newcomers. I've missed his comments in the most recent threads, which is how I found this.
