What are those spots you want to raise with?

I think it depends on your opponents and the situation.

A234 is a nice starting hand, a very playable starting hand. I like it better in a full game, with more opponents who will pay you off than in a heads-up contest. It lacks high card strength for heads-up play.

I raise all day in a loose limit game.

In PLO8, I sometimes raise in position depending on the skillset of the other players likely to be in the hand. I'm never 3-betting or playing it for my stack pre, as the hand is a ~46-54 dog heads up against the top 20% (and a huge dog to AAxx).

Do you really get this exact hand enough to worry about it?

Omaha is not my main game, but I think I have gotten it exactly once that I remember. I limped in UTG, lots of people called, someone in late position raised, I 3-bet. Ended up making nut flush and nut low for a scooper!

Never mind, I'm glad you asked; that may be the only great O8 memory I have.

This is a good hand to limp w in early position and 3! 5! with as much dead money in the middle as possible.

In most games just raise and watch them call

Depends on the game and the action, but the more players that are in with a hand like this, in general, the better.

You want to maximize the amount of money in the pot early with strong lo hands because you will often only take half the pot and you want to squeeze money out of those high hands or weaker lo hands which might not call after seeing a flop or later streets.

Still, this hand has hi potential with the wheel wrap around possibilities as well as the nut flush possibility. So raising in a huge majority of situations would not be an awful play, even if calling would be slightly better.

Either way is OK. Play as you feel. Flop will decide anyway

I raise in late position with all hands that good potential both ways like ABB2 or ABB3 or A2sxx A3sxx, A2BW or A3sBW, ABsB4 or ABsWB, AAWW, AABW,

and ocassionally KK23, QQ23 or 2345, 2346 to throw them off/give appearance of gambling a little.

B= Broadway Card and W= Wheel Card

In early position, I limp with most hands (because seems like the best hands play good multiway) and then I 3 bet the stronger ones to trap loose bad players in middle. Lots of times another player with good hand caps it and have caused bad player who tried to limp in for 1 bet to now pay 4.

I do go back and forth as to whether to limp all hands up front or to have a rasing range that includes monsters and hands that would prefer to play shorthanded. (ie AQ2 with no back up or AA5,and other hands like that) Anybody have thoughts on this?

Anyway, the above preflop strategy has been working well over an extended period of time for me playing live but I play in a pretty loose game.

Ur supposed to limp and get as many in the pot as possible since this hand plays best multiway and if someone squeezes then you can only 3bet / 4 betif your deep enough to see a flop for the the possible low board. Then you can hopefully scoop or quarter with the right board.
