So, obviously drawing to the nuts with the A-5 wrap. against an essentially 100% range, does he call a flop bet more often or does he bluff turn or river more often if i check back? How would you play this hand?

it should be noted that this is the final 8 and 5 places pay, although im not too worried about the ICM implications of the hand as much as straight equity

I would not limp in from MP, and I wouldn't check flop (hand can stand a lot of heat) or turn (top of range). Although I don't think it's necessarily a horrible line, I do believe that the top of your range should be bet with a very high frequency.

I would raise river, but use a bigger sizing.

No real problems, but I observe that you checked the flop, when you had a good draw, and then decided to put money in on the river when you could possibly get quartered. Im not saying the worst outcome is likely, far from it. But sometimes betting the low draw is worth getting the fold on the flop, or gets you some desperate action from AA or such. As played, you may be minimizing your profit, but it is close. Since villain called, he was not a total bluff.

you're right about raising the river for sure. I didnt realize that I didnt have a low hand because the 4s are paired, although wouldnt it also be impossible for our opponent to have a low hand if there are only 2 unpaired low cards on the board?

as far as betting the flop, youre saying that we want a call on the flop, but even though its more likely that he just folds, the value we get when he does call is worth it right?

Huh? Do you understand Omaha 8/b?

You have the nut low, so yes it's definitely possible your opponent could also have a low hand.

If he folds, he loses whatever equity he had. Against your hand many hands have decent equity, and it's good for you when they fold such hands.

If he calls, you can still make the nuts, meaning that the implied odds favor you. Also even against his calling range your hand has high equity.

I'm learning haha thats why I'm here. there was something about how paired cards dont contribute to the low hand... that bit is kind of confusing to me haha
