Blind defence is not something I have paid much attention to in the past. I just play if I have a good hand, or defend with something that can make a wheel, or 4 big cards. I need to work on it.

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7 Q Q 8
UTG raises, MP folds, CO calls, BTN folds, SB calls, Hero calls
Spoiler:

Flop: (8 SB) J 3 2 (4 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets, CO calls, SB calls, Hero folds

Turn: (5.5 BB) 6 (3 players)
SB checks, UTG bets, CO raises, SB folds, UTG calls

River: (9.5 BB) 9 (2 players)
UTG checks, CO bets, UTG calls

So I'm getting 7.5 to my 1... Call?

I would defend, but it's close.

I don't think looking at the pot odds you are getting is really the right way to think about it, since with certain types of hands, your odds of winning actually decrease more rapidly than your pot odds improve as more players enter the hand. This is an easy defense heads-up, but a marginal one multi-way.

I'm not defending here to a UTG raise. Late steal position raise, def, but not here, seems like a leak, or a raggy board lead out and hope villain doesn't have aces. The 7,8 kills our hand here Lucius. Replace them with 2 wheel cards and yes. Seems like we are drawing to two outs on the flop, I don't like those odds. Think in reverse, if you raised utg would you want a call from the bb with that starting hand. I WOULD

If I am the preflop raiser, I am almost always preferring the big blind to fold rather than defend, though in a four way pot I am pretty indifferent.

And if I am the OP, the likelihood that the villain has aces is a much less of a consideration to me in a four-way pot than the likelihood of getting whipsawed or forced to fold away equity later in the hand.

If ur calling pre, you pretty much need a Q to hit the board here. I float the flop and fold the turn

Yes. Standard defend. No need for a thread about it

This is not what floating is at all.
