2017: the end of limit Omaha/8? 2017: the end of limit Omaha/8?

So... In LA, the majority of card rooms are now spreading limit Big O instead of regular 4-card Omaha/8.. I think the bike is the only room still spreading it.

Hollywood park: big O
Hawaiian gardens: big O
Commerce: big O and some regular Omaha, but mostly big O
Bike: Omaha, except for their 12/24 mix game

Is this also happening across the US, or just a so cal thing?

Certainly seems that way online. Used to be able to get regular full ring games across multiple stake levels online. Now it's all 6 max.

All the games are going in the more gambly direction like PL full ring games are now all NL 6 max.

This will be the game of the future. I'm the only one at the table without a full denture

As of now, no... I think hpc runs a PLO/plo8 mix.. And that's the only pot limit hi/lo mix I'm aware of..

it's a real bummer 5card is becoming so popular. but this is what the avg o8 player/mix nit loves. i think any game that the tightest nerd at your table wants to play is always a terrible game.

LA seemed to have a mix of both. In all the mixed/combo games though it was still all regular FLO8.
It depends what stakes. Like at higher stakes it was all still FLO8, but at lower stakes there was more Big O mixed in. Like there was a regular Stud8/Big O mix (rather than standard O/E mix.)
I hope it won't be that way at the series this year.

What. No. This OP is nothing to do with full-ring vs 6-max. And online FLO8 cash I think is more popular than NLO8/PLO8 cash.

I can speak only on Ohio casinos/clubs (and a few Vegas casinos, but I'll let the regs/locals speak up) but I have never seen a list or game of Big O8 or anything in Ohio. We have the following LO8 games fairly regularly: 6/12 (Fri) and 3/6 (Sat) at Jack Cincinnati, 4/8 at Hollywood Columbus (weekends), 4/8 at Jack Cleveland (weekends), 6/12 or 8/16 at Ruggles Club in Dayton (Fridays ... usually 2-3 tables every week), 10/20 at Shark Tank in Columbus (Sundays). Plus LO8 in limit mixed games: 10/20 mixed at Hollywood Columbus on Tuesdays, 20/40 HORSE at Shark Tank on Wednesdays.

I think it might just be a So Cal thing? I check Bravo occasionally at nights and recently saw that there are some mid-high stakes LO8 going in Atlantic City at Borgata.

Of course a lot of trends start or are popularized in California and slowly spread east... skateboarding, yoga, smoking bans, organic/green healthy eating, LSD/crack, etc. We just got Sriracha flavored Kale chips here in Ohio last week, maybe Big O8 is next week?

In the Bay Area, N.CA there is a lot of 4 card O8 and no Big O.

Bay 101, Oaks, Lucky Chances, CA Grande, Capitol Casino, Thunder Valley all have LO8. I believe they have Big O up in Petamuma, but I don't go there. Lucky Chances has an occasional PLO game spring up.

Foxwoods runs a regular 08 game 5/ 10
During series they will run more
Promblem is so many idiots play only nl or high hand ganes.and casino only care about money.
We really need the casinos to put guarantees on highlow events and also make them the main event of that day

Omaha8 is alive and well in the Seattle area. Helps greatly if you offer a high hand promo.

Yep. It is just getting started around here. But no one from 2p2 should play in the games

Merge is still all FL for their O8 tables but idk how much traffic they get anymore(probably soft at least). WPN has the occasional 40/80 or 75/150 games running, and usually some smaller ones going at random stakes. Most of the FL stakes on there you can get running if you're a bit patient.

My friend who lives near there told me that the 101 Casino in Petaluma has a $6/$12 (with a $10/$20 kill) Big O game on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Graton Casino had a $4/$8 LO8 game going when I was there on New Year's Day, though according to Bravo it's not going right now and there's not even a wait list for it. (There is a $5/$5 PLO game going, but no Big O.)

Stones Gambling Hall in Citrus Heights also has a regular $4/$8 LO8 game.

And this is not Northern California, but I was at The Orleans in Vegas about 6 weeks ago, and they had multiple $4/$8 and $8/$16 LO8 games going on the Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I was there.
