2016 goals thread - Omaha 8 Poker Forum - Omaha Hi Low Split Poker

Overall with including live, then my year was decent and surpassed expectation, and if just online then it was alright, but relatively bad compared to what I hoped/planned that it would be.

I would be interested in doing this for next year as well, except that with all the upcoming **** changes, then next year will be the most unpredictable one. For things like what games will run and how much, or what other changes will come from them. So I think that it would be hard to make any realistic predictions or goals, other than maybe something like signing up and playing on another site, like SWC or 888.

goals 2016

-win 100k with cashgames in PLO8 NL08 and 5c08
-dont play Omaha high only anymore
-play more live 08 games @ epts

-excercise 250 days
-drink less alcohol
-live more healty
-lose weight (85kg now and want 78kg)

my goals of 2015 where:
make 150k (accomplished)
lose weight (failed)

so i hope for better year this time

I think my year went better than expected seeing as it was my first year playing full time.

2016 goals will be simpler.

Make between $50-100k
Win a bigger Holdem MTT
Win the $530
Win every 08 MTT and all the PLO MTTS except the 530.
Get married and split my time between USA and Europe/Canada
Final table a COOP (or at least not make mistakes in them,
Add More players to our Stable
Review more MTTS with my friends/regs,
Visit two new countries.
And try to be in the top 10, Preferably 5 biggest winners in 08

Join SWC and put in some volume there (and crush), and possibly also another site like 888.
Put in a similar volume as now on Stars. Continue to work on every game, and endeavor to be able to just jump in any good game I want that's running.
Move.
Continue to travel around.
Go back to the WSOP (and crush/defend my title) again, and play the Main, and probably also other 10ks (the HORSE, FLO8, 2-7, LHE and DC).
Win a sizeable NLHE mtt.
Square up all my money situations.
FT a COOP (Though that's not exactly in my control, so just play as well as normal and hope to run better than usual in those crucial situations to improve upon my infinite 12th-18th place finishes).
Find a girlfriend.
Just try and be happier.

Win some in the tree fiddy hypers, at least not losing. That's relaxing. So far poker has been self sustaining, when it comes to table action. My goal really is to read more of the various poker book I have acquired. Who knows, maybe limit O8 will come around again. You should never say never. But more probable is I'm trying to fine tune (and maybe macro tune) my actions in the low hypers. In the $7 I was too little above the average for being a winner, according to for example expected won BB/100. Glad I even make it at the $3.50, not in every guy's reach. All is relative.

You just have to find comfort in that you also have an another life on 2+2.

- make $20k+ at 5/5 big o. (i play 1-2x a week, maybe 10 hrs total)
- at least get my hourly up... currently ~$18/hr ...which i could duplicate at 1/2NL :/

- play more nlhe
- play in 5 new poker rooms

I have been doing a small bankroll-building exercise on Stars over the last two months to get my game back on track. Started with $350 and worked it up to $830 playing 18-mans and low-stakes MTTs.

So my goals would be:

- Continue building my roll until it hits $2000, then mix in a few mid-size tourneys

- Keep winning money from live poker

- Find a new site like Bodog or Bovada so I can spend a couple months in the US and continue playing

I think you had an avg year buddy. Lots of room for improvement imo, just ask the plo8 player.
