In the December 2008 issue of 2+2 Magazine, I've read an article from Mason Malmuth: http://www.twoplustwo.com/magazine/i...ing-future.php

He states that:

"Prediction Number 2: Limit hold ’em will be the game. Again this goes back to our book sales. In general, the numbers on all of our books is up, but it is seen most dramatically in our books on limit hold ’em. So this indicates that limit hold ’em is the place where most of the new players will go.

At the other extreme, the sales of our stud book are approximately the same as last year. While still a healthy number, it’s clear to me that only a small number of the new players will become stud players, and hold ’em will continue to crowd our seven-card stud in the cardrooms of the South and West.

Prediction Number 3: No-limit hold ’em will be a waste of time. Right now there are a bunch of very small no-limit games on the Internet. People watch the WPT and want to play no-limit hold ’em just like the pros on TV. But what they don’t realize is that they are watching the end of a tournament where the blinds are high compared to the amount of chips that most players have. Thus there’s lots of action.

In real no-limit ring games, that’s usually not the case. Players can now afford to wait, and no one wants to jeopardize all their chips with a questionable hand, and the action dries up. So I predict that these no-limit games will stay very small and mainly be isolated to the Internet."

I'm skeptical about these affirmations and predictions.

The magazine has been published in 2008 but maybe the article has been written in 2003? And it is why the predictions are a little bit "surprising"?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

These "Classic Articles" were usually originally published in Card Player or the defunct Poker Digest.

He mention's Chris Moneymaker. So, I think we can estimate the date of publication in between the 2003 and 2004 WSOPs.
