Hi I recently started playing online poker and I deposited $130. Im currently playing 5 cent 10 cent(Not good bankroll management I know). But I think its fine since I can deposit more if necessary. Im currently winning at 24 bigs per hundred and was wondering if its worth my time trying to grind a bankroll at .05/.10 or should I just play higher and redeposit if I need to.

Obvious question will obviously get asked; how many hands does this represent?

So you're up two and a bit buyins

Unless online has changed a lot recently, winning 24 BB/100 is not even close to sustainable. You are on a massive heater.

You are also in potential trouble. Some players start off their journey in poker with heaters like this. They can't lose. They eventually divide themselves into two groups. The first look at their results and like you decide they have poker figured out at the level they are playing. They move up to where they can make "real" money. Eventually, they start losing as their results regress to the mean. They end up claiming that online poker is rigged, or people don't play "right" as the excuse for not winning.

Others continue to read and see stuff they don't understand. Rather than think it is useless, they start coming to the realization that they are going to have to work hard to even stay where they are.

I'd wish you good luck in the future but it looks like you've already got it for now.

Recently? Yesterday? 6 months ago? Likely you are just running good and the good times will soon balance out with some awful results. That would be perfectly normal. If you stay ahead of the game for a few more months , then maybe you could start playing a little higher from time to time and see what happens.

Winning less than 2.5 buy-ins is not a heater. If he was winning at 24bb/100 over 10k+ hands, I'd agree on using that term, but just winning two big hands in a row doesn't qualify as that. Otherwise you'd be on a heater if you won the blinds on your very first hand for a 150bb/100 winrate.

@OP: do whatever you think provides you with the most fun. If you would like to play higher stakes, just do it if you're not worried about the money. Just be advised that your sample size is absolutely meaningless when it comes to determining your winrate in a longer run.

Pretty much exactly what you got out of 16 tabling FR on Stars.
