WSOOP with buy-in outside of my league WSOOP with buy-in outside of my league

I have suddenly in my PS account sitting a WSOOP 215$ ticket . It puts me in a kind of difficult situation. First of all I have no idea how it made its way into my account. I can't remember having played a satellite. I definitely didn't buy one. I think I played something from the poker school or so, but as far as I remember I flew out miles before any bubble.

And second, what I am gonna do with it to maximize my chances of going deep? This buy-in is completely outside of my league. I do decently at nano stakes and know there most of the time what I am doing. 215 $ ...... I don't feel good about it because I am completely clueless at this stakes.

Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions what to play? (I almost registered right now for Badugi, but then decided against it )

Just play your normal game and see what happens, and don't be afraid to gamble it up

Is it a ticket or $T?

If it is $T, you could sell it if you want. There is a 2+2 thread that is a marketplace for $T. A link to it is below. You could probably sell $215 of $T for like $214.50 or so of cash.

If it is a ticket, I'm guessing that you cannot sell it.

Sell $T Here

EDIT:

I wonder if it would be possible for you to register for a tournament with the ticket and then unregister and get $T. I think I recall back in the day that if you won satellites you would be automatically registered for the tournament, but if you unregistered, it would give you $T equal to the buy-in.

Pretty sure they closed that reg/unreg for T$ years ago

Sadly, it is a ticket.

You might want to email support and ask how you got the ticket. If it was on my account and I wasn't sure how I got it I would be concerned with PS asking for the value of it back somehow if it was indeed a mistake.

It is good idea. Just did that.

PS become so depressing incompetent after Amaya took over.

I think this question is vaguely indicative of the we're different fallacy discussed in psychology of poker. They're not all experts; they just happen to have enough money to play the tourney. Nobody's perfect and poker players make the same mistakes no matter the stakes. I would expect the play to be better than you're used to seeing at your usual level, but you can still develop reads and use them to your benefit.

I won a $215 Powerfest ticket on Party -- not via playing, but via their daily giveaway -- and used it to register for an event that was way out of my bankroll. In fact, the value of the ticket was higher than my highest-ever cash.

Wish I could say I binked it, but I did manage to last three hours, and at no point did I feel seriously outclassed.

Most importantly, I know I won't feel intimidated the next time I fluke my way into a bigger event.

Or, as Bob148 said better:
