Raising ... (Texas Holdem) Raising ... (Texas Holdem)

I play in a small hold'em tournament group and we've had some disagreements about rules for raising.

We all pretty well agree that a raise pre-flop should be at least double the big blind.

What everyone disagrees on, however, is the three bet etc as well as post-flop betting.

Does the pre-flop three bet have to be double the initial raise (x<2X big blind) ... so for example if the blinds are 50/100 and the first raiser makes it 200 does the next raiser have to make it 400 or what?

Also, after the flop, what are the rules or guidelines for raising?

Thanks

Standard is double the raise, but sometimes it can be differential (in some better live tournaments like EPT...)

The raise must be at least by the same amount the last raise was.
E.g.: blinds 50/100, one makes it 200, the next could make it 300, bc the raise was by 100.
if one made it 300 in the first place, the next raise has to be at least to 500.

pretty much the same on the flop. if on bets e.g. 1200, the raise must be at least to 2400, the initial bettor could make it a least of 3600 now.

take care, there might be different house rules in some casinos.

hope i could help
cheers
