This.

The 8bb win rate or whatever he posted was def a heater and is not sustainable.

source - 500k+ hands of nl50 rush in my database from the last year.

Of course if a real hu pro who is good against good regs drops down to 50nl and plays on multisite to be sure to get enough action from the terrible regs bread at 50nl or fish, he would make 100$ an hour quite easily.
You are underestimating how easy it is to get action at NL50 HU. You can pretty much be 2-6 tabling vs. fish nonstop playing only on 2 networks. So if you are US player you can just play on PS+FTP and still get decent amount of action.

Still $100/h would require maintaining a really good winrate while regularly playing 3-4 different opponents. It's really far from easy and most of the people capable of doing it would probably maximize their hourly doing something else (eg. bumhunting small/midstakes)...

But anyway, if somebody tries to achieve $100/h winrate at NL50, multitabling HU is probably the most reasonable way to do it.

My lifetime winrate at 6max at 200nl is over 4ptbb over 3 years

I play 7-12 tables and most of the time i have 2-3 hu tables starting vs weak regs or fish

Everytime i have tried to play 6-8 tables of nl50 hu(fun-bored-challenge), i have gotten crushed by having too many weird different players, with too many different stack sizes and having a bunch of weird weak regs sit with me and play super high variance non thinking aggro hu.

It would be a very hard feat..

i feel that the only way this is doable in USD $ would be to play 16-20 tables on a site with 60%+ rb and rakeraces.. even then it would be quite close.. probably would end up getting 90$ an hour. (have to keep 3ptbb+ over 500k hands playing too many tables)

Carl Sampson has trying to establish his credentials as an expert for years but he does not appear to be very good at poker. This results in some hilarious articles. They can be found on The Hendon Mob website, who publish them in all seriousness. "Self-hypnosis - the silent enemy" is a particular favourite of mine.

Thought I would add this quote from Carls blog Oct 3 2012:
"I have been playing $0.01-$0.02 lately "
