This hand was played in the main event of the Indiana state Poker championships 2012 in Lawrenceburg Indiana at Hollywood casino. I have been arguing with my friend for the last two hours of why 1. He played it poorly and 2. why known poker pro Chad Brown( Vanessa Rousso husband), is not a donkey for playing it how he did. The hand in question is as follows. (please excuse the archaic nature of describing how the hand went down as I am from the old school).

Blinds are 50-100 with a starting stack of 10k. Player A has been at the table with Chad Brown for three hours. Player A has been playing relatively tight for the whole three hours. Player A wakes up with JJ on the button and makes it 450 to go. Chad Brown is in the small blind and calls. Heads up to the flop, flop comes 10 high rainbow. Chad Brown checks the flop. Player A proceeds to bet 2k into the 1k pot. His reasoning is "to take it down right there". Chad Brown calls. Turn comes a non scare card. Chad Brown checks again. Player A bets 2k into the 5k pot. His reasoning was to get value for his hand. Chad Brown calls. River comes a 4. Chad Brown bets half pot and Player A calls only to be dissapointed that his JJ get outrun by 7 4 suited. Chad Brown had flopped bottom pair and caught up on the river. Please tell why and how Player A played this hand horribly and why Chad Brown is not a donkey for playing the hand the way he did. Thank you for reading my first post and I look forward to many more.

Wrong forum and please don't post results. When you post results it skews the advice you will get. It may have skewed mine but here it is.

1. Chad seems to have played this hand like a donkey. However, he is not a donkey. I've played live with him several times. He picks up tells like a beast. He may have had one on you.
2. If your friend is saying you should have shoved the turn they are correct.

They both played it very poorly. Chad's pre call with 74 is a massively losing call sb vs btn with 100bbs and his river donk also seems really bad. Your friend's flop bet size is, however, even dumber. Beyond that, it's hard to say more when you don't even give the cards on the flop or turn besides saying one of them was a ten. Thus, your posting is also quite poor. You all three lose.
