The tournament I was play was a 77 6-max turbo on stars. We were down to 4 handed. The hand in which I was somewhat confused about was me in the sb with kjs playing 13bb. The button who was quite aggro was playing a 35bb stack with a 28vpip 26pfr and 36vpip from button. The big blind was playing an 8bb stack. The pay jumps were as followed: 1st-2900 2nd-2000 3rd-1500 4th-1050. The button open shoves which he has done in the past, I know I am not completely crushing his range but I feel that I may have to call off considering its a turbo and it is 4handed, I ended up making a tough fold. The bb called off with a8o and the button showed q10, board bricked and a8o shipped the pot. What I am wondering is this an obvious call and +ev in the long run or is it a blurry spot and somewhat player dependant, anyway thanks for any feedback.

Uhm.. yea this spot is player dependent. Assuming there are antes he can likely shove atc or very wide if he is good. Or he could be an idiot nit / loves to limp etc etc. Given stats and the way stacks are I bet he is MUCH wider than QT and KJ is a profitable call.

Unfortunately Poker isnt a case of right or wrongs plays as only you can determine the feel of the table.

HUDS are a great thing to use when playing as they save you hassle of trying to remember alot of the stats, but they should not be relied upon as a way of playing poker.

Without trying to be results orientated, how much consideration did you give to the payout structure?

Would certainly be a big factor for me

With a short stack in the BB I would personally be folding.

I always feel that there is a better spot in the future. Not necessarily a better hand but certainly a better situation all things considered than calling off KJ

Only my opinion of course

I would be taking into consideration my EV on the other players in this tourney. If you are picking up blind uncontested and/or there are weaker players that you can target there is no need to take the risk here. If however it is an uber tough table then a high varience call here would be ok, IMO especially if the BTN big stack is taking liberties.
