Re: Am i on a losing streak or just bad?

Good players win, lose a little or go do something else. I've been dealing/playing/coaching poker for over 15 years and when you are running bad or playing bad drop down a level or two or find a weaker table to play at. But head up and get back in there BE POSITIVE AT ALL TIMES LOVE WHAT YOU DO.

No, just no. Nah man, no. Get a job dog. Get a job, play poker for a lot longer while working/going to school...then holler back. No.

Re: Am i on a losing streak or just bad?

Guys I think the Op has a lot more respect for money than a lot of people who play this game. Hes obviously is on tilt somewhat from what he deems to be bad luck.

Now take into account his emotions when he wrote this post. He was feeling like a donk and then wondering what sort of a ripping he was going to get on here. He obviously feels he can do better and needs some encouragement from some on here. I for 1 am only a rec player but i like to consider myself a serious rec player. I dont have the time to multitable online been a single parent and all that jazz but when i play i like to think I do my best to be and this the important bit... a break even cash player.

Op you just need to sit back take in account what level ur playing, online is the way to go, 2c5c tablers are better than most 1/2 live regs and thats a fact. As the guys have said you need some hand history. stop trying to be the next ivy or whoever go enjoy the game after all it is a game. the losing streak will work its way out you will be back in the black after a while and then when you get there stop, check yourself out ask yourself now im back in the black do i want to go thru all the emotional turmoil again or do i want to enjoy the game.

If there were more people in this game more honest to themselves i think poker would not exist in the massive platform that it does today. It needs wannabes it needs big egos it needs people who think they are the best. You op know your not the best but you are willing to put it there in the hope of learning, that in itself makes a better player than most think they are better players.

All the best pal and go ENJOY THE "GAME"

No.

OP, get a job for income while you're in school...period. Keep playing poker for sure, but not for income.

Take a break and get a job for a bit. Save up a bankroll and play rec. Concentrate on building a larger bank roll and ease your way into playing for a living.

Re: Am i on a losing streak or just bad?

work on growing a solid game, where u dont question bad beats or **** variance runs. Learn to spot pick, learn to 3b, learn to pot control, learn fold equity, learn how changing certain things vs different types of opponents can exploit the pants off of them......THEN worry about a bankroll.

Basically....grow ur game.....then worry about a bankroll. I hope this helps (btw all that fluff mentioned before are just small concepts, and if pieced together correctly, you will find yourself in alot easier CLEARER spots to execute very profitable plays).

when you begin to doubt yourself

is when the true journey starts and along the way you may stumble

or even get lost but in the end you must find yourself

after that nothing matters

Sounds like you need to learn when to take breaks. You have to bust out 10 times to lose a G in those kind of games. Also limit how long you play for, like I found I can only play 3 hours a day. Once I go beyond that I get sloppy. I guess not being able to play poker at home online is a blessing in disguise but at least I can log onto skillbet and play for like 15-20 minutes then go back to doing laundry or some other mundane crap.

The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary. I would suggest getting a full time job, and having this as a hobby. If your hobby grows into a sustaining income then reconsider. I would suggest becoming a real estate agent. Very minimal education required, flexible hours and a lot of upside income potential.

Re: Am i on a losing streak or just bad?

Dont consider poker a regular source of income just yet...

Thing is this..its incredibly tough to be a poker pro...some people dont understand that..look at all great grinders online and live they have worked on their game for countless hours...the best players are the most hardworking... e.g Phil Galfond he is a great player we all know...but if u read up on him you will know how hard he works..

Bankroll management is one part of it...understanding odds are important no doubt...bad beats are well the staple diet of a poker player...but over all this i think whats important to be a poker pro is the poker mindset...trust me you dont have it yet..not saying u will never have it but as of now u dont have it... u wont be able to play ur A game (just saying ur A game not the best poker) when u have lost over 50K hands online..or when u have lost for a month live...

Now for me or you to earn from poker,,we need to invest lets say 4 hrs each day at the to learn and 8 hrs to grind...unless u play high stakes for 2 hrs and make enough in a day to tide the month...so realistically u need to work 12Hrs or more each day and get what in return ?...no one knows cos u have not played a million hands yet...So invest 12 hrs in something thats high variance of a yr and then u will know if ur cut out for this....instead do a regular job...play 4 hrs at night...study 2 hrs and see if ur cut out for it....

Before i end this let me tell you again to make 60K a yr from poker is tougher than making 60K from a job....and poker is a lot more than odds and BRM.

In any case GL
