Your primary population areas are Madison and Milwaukee. Milwaukee used to be a HUGE manufacturing city, but has been bleeding jobs like crazy to greener pastures for decades.
Madison is the birthplace of the radical Left, but I can't speak directly to their local taxation situation since I do not live there.
Milwaukee taxes are bad, but can't hold a candle to all the "fees" that they love to create.
