If he doesn't get soulcrushed by school, yes. Well, maybe not Calc, because there is no reason for 95% of people to learn Calc.

So you would just be a regular average to below teacher?

As for bad textbooks - no idea, only thing I used mine for was the problem sets, never read anything more in HS.

Shocker...

Yes, that's exactly what I said. Exact wording even. Good work.

Sooooo.....assuming you wrongly infer that motivation and self-learning are the same thing, you're also wrong about students being motivated to learn in a context free environment. Good job!

Don't worry, I am sure the lecturer has a PhD. She'll be fine.

Why would I need to read the text books in HS? Attendance was mandatory. Sweet, I can see what the teacher recited in text format.

TC is totally a 1%-er in everything, financial and otherwise. Charlie Sheen even says so.

Na, I suck at reading.
But back on track - why not have videos or interactive game type things from the best lecturers, then have a bunch of tutors spend 20 minutes or so with kids as they have problem per day. Such a more efficient way to do things.
Education is so obsolete, but hopefully the cost drops enough that we can just abandon the public schools as relics of the past soon.

Because the book is written by somebody who is way, way better at math and has a deeper understanding than your teacher. You know.....the exact thing that you think makes HS teachers bad.

Which is why kids should watch the best of them, and have tutors on hand to answer specific questions about problems the children have.

Re: This is why we should privatize our schools in the US
Who will pay for these videos? Is the expertise cheap, or will the high demand for the best talent make them prohibitively expensive?
