Oh man, a zinger two whole years in the making.

Consider me adequately zinged.

Tammy Baldwin has been the absolute joke everyone here expected her to be. Her one and only contribution to the US Senate has been to take the spot in the history books as "first openly gay US senator."

That Romney loss though. Pretty rough indeed. I had been looking forward to my locked thread.

I am honestly curious, did she take your name, hyphenate or no change?

I guess a possibility is you took her name.

Good chance he changed his first name too.
11-08-2014 , 02:07 PM

11-08-2014 , 02:10 PM
I've never tried to pronounce it, I still call him low key.

As VICE reported in June, Sheldon Adelson, the GOP mega-donor and casino executive, has raised eyebrows by donating $2.5 million to the Drug Free Florida's campaign against medical pot. The donation immediately raised questions. First, Adelson and his wife are major donors to a medical research facility in Tel Aviv that supports the use of marijuana to treat a number of diseases, so it’s a tad strange for Adelson to seek a ban on medical pot in America while financing it in Israel. Moreover, marijuana-related initiatives are on the ballot in Oregon, Alaska, and now Washington, DC—why is Adelson only donating to defeat pot in Florida, which is 2000 miles away from his home in Las Vegas? Consider the fact that Adelson's casino company, the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, has desperately sought entry into Florida's lucrative table games market, which is currently controlled only by the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Adelson's Sands Corp has lobbied furiously to build its own Vegas-style casino in Florida, but has so far come up short. The deal with the Seminoles expires next year, meaning whoever controls the governor's office has a great deal of sway over the decision.

Rhymes with "Gen. David Petraeus" imo
11-08-2014 , 02:59 PM
lol where do you get the u sound?
11-08-2014 , 03:03 PM
It's a schwa
11-08-2014 , 03:10 PM
Never thought about it much, but I guess I'm thinking of something like "adonis" or "diagnosis" where the last syllable is turned into an "uss" sound.
11-08-2014 , 03:13 PM
i could be weird but those are definitely said with no u.... and I hear diagnosis said by people from all over all the time. Are you the diabeeeetus guy irl?
11-08-2014 , 03:16 PM
I read it and think of the perfume.
11-08-2014 , 03:30 PM
Interesting. I forgot about the schwa, but that seems about right for the way I'm saying it. On the other hand, I always assumed Anaïs Nin's name rhymed with Patraeus, but apparently I'm wrong about that.
