Reality is if you would have asked me a year ago if I would vote NDP in an election. I would say it would be a cold day in hell.

When we had our provincial election i used a site to vote that determined a strategic vote to remove the PC's after voting PC all my life in Alberta. It said NDP. I will do the same with Harper

Heck how many CDN's went WTF when they saw the results in Alberta?

What riding you in Lozen...I like looking at threehundredeights riding by riding list to know who to vote for lol

For me I've always been too the left of the NDP in theory but have voted Lib in both bc and on because of their respective green plans the NDP the shamefully opposing, so not voting Harper is an easy one for me I'm in a riding where cons can't win so it's NDP vs lib for me....dunno who yet

You have strategic voting, we have TRUMP. If you wanted the hassle of running this country I am sure you could take us over when the Khardasian's are on TV.

Would like to see Tim Moen and the libertarian party get some votes. No matter who wins I don't see much changing in the next 4 years. Unless NDP wins, then it'll be even worse.

How is Deez Nuts polling in this?

ya they will totally return the corporate tax rate to, ya know, well beneath the average under the Harper years and thus get enough revenue for a scaled down child care program. A socialist horror!

I love how Harper campaigns and implies that the NDP and LIberals will bring back the Long Gun Registry a flat out lie. Rural voters are just stupid. Oh wait many voters are just stupid

There you go saying the whole team was filled with goons. Just a few and Bobby Clark was the worst but back than they hated us we hated them. Man that was a great series

We 3 years of deficits to pay for a big infrastructure boost to public transit, affordable housing and green energy. Ironically the policy is great. Deficits don't really matter, and infrastructure is one of the best things the government can do (and all three of these are good). However, this is ****ing terrible politics. He is going to be completely evicerated by the cons and the NDP for the deficit thing and infrastrcture spending just isn't sexy the way childcare is.

Agreed on both counts. Hopefully they have some brilliant comms person to message this well, but I just worry that too many people have been brainwashed into thinking DURRRR DEFICITS BAD DURRRR.

At least my riding looks to be going back red after several misguided years of John Baird.

Yes but the Conservatives are running a deficit also this year. With Oil as low as it is they will be in the billions even with their wacked up balanced budget were they declare there will be no defecit

Reality is Trudeau is right

Today it will be confirmed we are in a recession
09-01-2015 , 04:57 PM
Meh, it was 0.5% contraction, which is better than the forecasts predicted and an improvement from the 1st quarter. June's numbers are looking pretty postive. Globe and mail had a good write up on it.

Exerpt:
“If this period is ultimately deemed to be a recession, it will be of the mildest variety and one of the strangest recessions ever,” wrote Bank of Montreal chief economist Douglas Porter in a research note. “Consumer spending was up in both quarters and so too was employment, far from a widespread softening in the economy.”

I still have no idea who I will vote for.

Not the NDP.

Besides a commitment to recycling, what does the Green Party offer? Are they socialist? Please ELI5 the green party to me

I never get these posts. Do you think the NDP are socialists? Cause from their policies they are almost identical to the liberals on issue after issue. Arguably a smidegon to the right of the liberals on some issues. Hard to see any reason why one could rule out just one of these in this kind of categorical way.

The Green Party has a platform....but doesn't anyone really care what it says? They made a splash with free tuition recently.

Cute, but hardly comparable given that my dismissal is premised on the Green party haven't absolutely zero shot of actually winning, a fact hardly true for the NDP.
09-17-2015 , 05:13 PM
If you like the Green Party the most, vote for them.

I will vote for whoever I like the most regardless if they realistically have a shot or not.

Perhaps they won't win next year, but if supporters actually vote for them and numbers increase, maybe they'll have a shot next election. Or in 2 elections.
09-17-2015 , 06:32 PM
I think it depends riding by riding. I've voted green in the past (back when they were trying to get over 2% for public funding). It makes lots of sense to vote for minor parties in safe ridings. But in swing ridings, strategic voting makes far more sense imo.

Anyways, you never answered the question. Why the NDP hate when, imo, they are so damned similar to the libs?

anyone watching teh debate? mulcair far better than trudeau first 15
