Citation needed. I don't think this is true. I would be frankly shocked if it were true in Adelaide, where the crime hotspots are northern suburbs chock full of bogans.

All inferior Euro countries look the same from my perch here in USA#1.

But you were in Italy at the time!

Nice. Never heard of a "bogan".

This one is more of a comedy thing and nsfw language

Watching some more bogan videos. I didn't realize Mad Max was a documentary.

Sorry, one more.

This is my go-to example when anyone asks what a bogan is.

"Ching dao" is probably the closest. The starting consonants of both words don't have an exact match in English. The first one is sort of a "tch" thing and the second is more or less exactly in between t and d.

As regards beer in China, they drink exclusively weak lager. Government regulations limit beer everywhere to... I can't remember if it's 3.5% or 4% alcohol. It's like the Asian Utah. Basically everywhere has Tsingtao available plus a locally made one. The Tsingtao is a weak version, not the same as the export one you get overseas.

At a big resort-y Mariott in San Diego they have a standard menu with little descriptions under each beer. At the bottom of the list was Bud Light with some ridiculous description like "smooth hoppy texture with a nutty finish".

The bartender said they had to ask Anheuser-Busch for a description, and that's what they gave them.

Don't drink a lot of American beers but I do like to mix in a corona if I can't get a staropramen or hoegaarden or similar quality European. No lime obv.

Best American beers only available in USA#1

I bet they were bigger on asparagus.

Budweiser is a Germanic beer to the core.

Speaking of places, Las Vegas is going to be where the final presidential debate will be held next year.

Not the best idea ever.

Not really. I mean it started that way but is no longer even close really.

For one, Bud uses adjuncts and no other German beer styles (with the signle exception of Gose as far as I know) uses anything but malt, hops, and yeast.

Additionally, Bud is 7 IBUs while a traditional German/Czeck pilsner is from 25 to 45 IBUs. That is a significant difference in bitterness. The German/Czeck pils has a bit of a maltier backbone (as compared to Bud) to balance out the higher IBUs. The perceived bitterness is still much higher.

Also, you can actually smell hops in the Czeck pils. Good luck finding a whiff of hops anywhere near a Bud.

I just realized this beer conversation is not in the LC thread. Sorry about that.

Rubio is the new hotness. The dynasties are underperforming to put it mildly.
