When you do it right, it doesn't matter if he wins or loses.

Why have variance when you don't have to?

I'd rather flip a coin for 150 than be given 50.

If it's for 150k I'd (probably) prefer what you said though.

It seemed like he was developing his stance on the spot based on the reaction from the crowd.

Haha, I feel like Cain pretty much always just makes up his positions on the spot. And then if they turn out to be unpopular, he either was misquoted, misspoke, or we don't have the facts or analysis right.

It's not easy being a politician. The average joe would do worse than Cain has given this much media attention. I don't think the negotiation gaffe is so bad because it's just not an issue in the forefront of politics. Not knowing how to answer the abortion question is just insane though.

The real issue is that it's obvious he doesn't know WHY. He doesn't realize there is a reason we have that policy by the casual way he answered the question Blitzer asked him.

It's the same type of thing when candidates were asked if it was ok to violate another nations border's in order to capture/attack terrorists and there was all kinds of fail there.

I've been saying over and over Cain is a complete moron. Anyone who can stand in front of people and say what he said in this clip about Muslims : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDXCwd65R5o is simply too stupid to be the person who represents us.

Ugh just watching that makes me angry. Dope.

Is the statement stupid mainly because it goes against the Constitution or stupid even if it didn't? Is his IQ higher than Michelle Bachman's?

Stupid and against the constitution are two different things. The stupidity of his statement stands on it's own.

I'd guess his IQ is higher than Bachmann but who really knows.

Can we do this forum a huge favor and ban discussion about perceived politicians' IQs?

When someone says that there is an attempt to ease Sharia law and the Muslim faith in our government, it makes me really wonder how stupid someone can be.

Then he goes on to say "How dare a judge come in and go against the will of the people", which shows his lack of understanding of how things work in this country.

I think the statement is stupid because it shows his lack of understanding, not whether something is constitutional or not. I've said plenty of people who agree with me are stupid in my life because they don't know WHY they agree with me. Trust me, you hang around enough in a city full of unions workers, you hear some really stupid things. We come to the same conclusions a lot of times, but by entirely different means.

I'm unsure if his IQ is higher than Bachman's. Bachman makes me wonder how she functions as a member of society, much less in our government. Cain seems more down-to-earth, but in an embarrassing racist uncle at Thanksgiving dinner kind of way.

Agreed, as almost all of the candidates IQs are obviously below the norm.

FWIW I don't perceive Romney as "stupid" in any way. I just disagree with his policies and ideas.

I mean, if I get laid off from my job and take another one for half the salary, I'm still getting richer than I was at the time I was fired, and technology is still advancing. It still represents a vast inequality if the rate at which the rich can increase their wealth is skyrocketing while the rate at which the median worker can increase his or hers is falling despite being more productive.
The chart you are showing suggest that things aren't getting better though. I assumed it was CPI adjusted. The chart suggests things are getting worse.

Yeah I agree with that. It seems that he can afford to think about some positions before debates/public speeches but for some reason chooses not to.

You know it's not fair standard when it comes to GOP candidates. Here are some other nuts to make you angry:
-Bachmann : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9bvreW08X0
-Paul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JyvkjSKMLw, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Auwq_...eature=related (this one makes me want to vomit, especially when creationist is "making scientific statement" with imaginary science to support his religious agenda)
-Newt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx9UT31t-tY (from 1:30)
-Santorum: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03zFTTqHScI (spot on on difference between liberals and conservatives )
-Rick Perry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngiJhmoFKkw (one of many)

:-)

Who cares what the average joe would do, this is a race for the leadership of over 300 million people. Standards are quite a bit higher.
