He also tells me that you can't throw a stick without hitting an illegal immigrant doing yard work or whatnot.

That's why I was curious if those charts posted earlier included illegals. With 15%+ of the entire nation's illegals living in Texas, that has to drag down some stats.

That was in the transition period when Texas was traditionally Democratic but swinging over to the new-look Reagan Revolution Republican Party, yes. Good Party Man, etc.

Lolol.

I cant think of anything more intellectually dishonest than not including some workers in stats about workers in order to make the jobs in that state look better on avg.

You win, nul points.

I really don't understand the hate. Crazy repression? Dude just move to where they live like you want to live. I think it could be great.

Remember, illegals are only here to make anchor babies and take good jobs from honest white folk. They contribute nothing to the economy and provide no benefit to society.

You don't see how this could create problems? Are you familiar with the nations of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh?

You're basically advocating the breakup of the United States. Are you prepared to defend the logical consequences of that?

Yup. Low cost of living, high wealth and job creation combined with illegal immigration is completely correlation and has no causal relationship at all

I understand that y'all are being sarcastic, just wanted to take this opportunity to spread my favorite speech on the subject of immigration ever: Immigration Restrictions: A Solution in Search of a Problem

It's almost as if cheaper immigrant labor leads to cheaper prices on goods. I hope all those Texas folk with their inexpensive cost of living aren't just pocketing the savings.

Are we really sure that Perry was such a wonderful organization? I mean so far the evidence seems to be that he announced his candidacy at a time designed to overshadow the Ames straw poll. Not exactly groundbreaking, and I'm not convinced.

Oh, and he seems less crazy but much scarier than Bachmann imo.

I guess I envision a country where liberals, conservatives, libertarians, and any other classification you can think off can find "their" place. The country is a microcosm of that now but it could be a lot better.

I don't think I am advocating turning the US into 50 different countries. We still need a federal government. It just needs to be smaller and less intrusive.

The entity you call Rick Parry cannot be contained by one woman.

Will Paul Ryan enter the race? If he does he will jump to the head of the class.

If Bachmann gets crucified for taking federal money for her ambiguously-oriented husband's "counselling" clinic, why isn't Perry catching flak for having the Federal government bail out his state's budget's shortfalls?

Organization doesn't matter until you start laying the ground game for primary by primary. For now its enough to have money, endorsements, and have your candidate decently scheduled for retail politics. Nothing is in place that has to be in place to fight the Iowa Caucus simultaneously while being in Nevada, NH, and SC for their contests that aren't long after. Not saying he is Gingrich, just give it time to see how he works this.

I don't recall anyone talking about the weak Texas Gov office ITT, but good point. Perry, like Bush before him, is basically a figurehead whose main power lies in crony appointments and feathering the beds of his political supporters.

Perry is not some Fat Wonk like Gingrich...
It's gonna be Balls to the Wall...
He called out Bernanke as "treasonous"...
Which is arguably true...
And today Perry = "I stand by what I said"...
So the USD Printing Press is gonna slow down.

This is hardball, no gay apologies...
Perry will use Bernanke as his stalking horse to POTUS.

Also, if the browbeating gets the Fed to slow down the presses then the economy will likely be slower come next Nov (making victory for Obama less likely).
