This is how bad the GOP has become. It's not even silly or "politics". It's the point of absurdity and insulting to the intelligence of even the stupid people.
Can anyone actually believe this? "Obama is destroying family".
WTF is wrong with people?

This was probably posted in here when it happened, but this article is another great example of his "war on intelligence".

While speaking at the First Baptist Church in Naples, Florida on Wednesday, Santorum claimed that the Left uses universities to "indoctrinate" young people for the end purpose of maintaining power. "It's no wonder President Obama wants every kid to go to college," he said.

Quote:

Earlier this month, Santorum accused Obama of "snobbery" for wanting all U.S. children to receive a college education.
|
President wanting every kid to go to college = attack on our country's right to remain ignorant

He also argued that colleges and universities would receive no funding if they taught Judeo-Christian principles, but by teaching radical secular ideology, these schools are given government backing.
|
Gee, its almost like there's some intentional separation between religion and publicly funded education.

Secondly, the bloody fight for the Republican presidential nomination – by most estimations the nastiest GOP fight in memory – has really hurt the images of the challengers in the eyes of both Republicans and, especially, independent voters. For Republicans, each candidate carries with them now some taint that cannot be ignored.”

His third point is actually just his first point again, which makes it even better. He's accurately describing reasonable theories but wow. Get an editor, WND.

I just don't understand why no quality R's threw their name into the nomination contest. You figured you'd get one out of Daniels, Christie, Thune, etc.
As a self-described R, I will tell you why each of the following R's will not win the general
Romney: Wall Street
Santorum: Too socially conservative
Gingrich: 3rd wife, his demeanor

Re: Who Will Be the 2012 Republican Presidential Nominee?
Finally the attack ads which will doom each of them:
Romney: 15% tax, Wall Street, financial crisis, flip-flopper
Santorum: Contraception, women barefoot/pregnant
Gingrich: Moon base, infidelity, kicked out of Congress

Re: Who Will Be the 2012 Republican Presidential Nominee?
Daniels: Bush cabinet member
Christie: Douchebag. He's like a younger Newt.
Thune: I dunno, but he probably has something
The infatuation with the also-rans and didn't-runs is just grass-is-always-greener syndrome imo.

Re: Who Will Be the 2012 Republican Presidential Nominee?
The reason you dont know anything about Thune is because he hasnt really done anything. He's just a generic republican with generic republican views. Just seems like a very bland choice to me.
Nate Silver on John Thune: "There is nothing especially distinct about Mr. Thune, whose chances I consider to be somewhat overrated. . . . The Washington establishment, of course, has not been popular of late — and Mr. Thune has cast some votes that he will have to answer for, like the ones on the federal bailouts."

I was more referring to GOP guys who think they can win, and want to maximize those chances. Much better to wait than challenge the current President.

Re: Who Will Be the 2012 Republican Presidential Nominee?
To be honest we haven't had a true quality Republican or Democrat run in a while. We have second rate candidates and a second rate incumbent president in this race, and we just have to pick the best of these guys.

The journalism of the right is sorely lacking in basic English, much less professional editing. I try to read some of the right-leaning opinion......but most are unreadable. Excluding content, Herman Cain and Erick Erickson make my explode.

I think the Dems have fielded vastly superior fields since....before I was born in the seventies. Even in recent times, their candidates have all been competent, if slightly unsuited in 2004. Clinton, Obama, Biden, Dodd, douchey Edwards was horrid, kucinich, and Richardson in 2008 had a rich and experienced depth of choices. The problem for the Republicans you can blame on Rove and Reed. In order to run since 2000, you have been forced to embrace a hard line, religion- tainted orthodoxy thar forced out more......impressive....candidates.
The second Republican void is that it has been twenty years since there has been an administration not staffed by old retreads and crackpots from Liberty, Oral Roberts, and homeschooled FoF crackpots. The talent pool has been drained like the Dem one in the stretch from Nixon-Bush41 which only had four years of Carter's lacking team. Republicans just aren't electing governors like Clinton, who were able to see how the party needed reality and rebranding. 2016
Might be even worse Han this crop.
