What are the chances that there are enough moderates.... What are the chances that there are enough moderates....

in the House and Senate that TRUMP! could pull off the biggest deal of his life and be a super-star of American history by creating a new political party that already has a President in office? If I were him I'd be putting out feelers. Dump Priebus and Bannon, and give it a go. Would he have any chance at all?

This is what I'm thinking. He needs to have Rand Paul working close to him. Paul Ryan needs to gtfo.

Trump could be the greatest president this country has ever had.

I think Priebus is a good guy.

Now we know what happens to ideas that are too dumb to qualify for a Sklansky post.

No.

I have said since inauguration that his goal was to create a rift between himself and the current GOP because he (rightly imo) believes that conservatives support him before they support the GOP. By naming and shaming those who don't go along with him, he can mobilize his supporters to vote them out for yes men who will bow to Trump and do whatever he says. Essentially, he wants to turn the Republican Party into the Trump Party.

Given that in many areas Trump holds the most extremist views of any President in American History, it would be unlikely for him to be the face of a new "moderate" party.

People just don't get the xenophobic authoritarian thing. Yeah, Trump expanding medicaire wouldn't be as big a shock as Pence/Ryan doing it, but that doesn't do anything to balance him out. Trump is far far right. Not moderate.

It would be hilarious if he did this, only to lose in 2020 when he isn't on the ballot in all 50 states.

He can't get what he wants w/ a fractured Republican party and there are already murmurs.
