We're Trayvon Martin's civil rights violated? We're Trayvon Martin's civil rights violated?

The justice department is investigating whether or not TRayvon's rights were violated by GZ. I believe there is a case to be made that can show they were indeed violated. TM had a right to be where he was. He was not doing anything wrong. He was as far as we know unjustly followed. Anyway, you guys are smarter than me. Is there a case for civil rights violations?

Considering an individual acting in his individual capacity owes no civil rights duties to anyone, no.

You need a state actor to violate the civil rights. That's why the Rodney King incident had a civil rights case, because cops were acting on behalf of the state. GZ wasn't acting on behalf of the state.

Also, it's "were" not "we're"

And do we really need another TM thread?

This. Pretty sure the fed's only avenue is a hate crime.
