Waco biker massacre Waco biker massacre

Cops do a lot of good but they also escalate situations when it doesn't need to happen. That is probably what happened here. Biker pulls out gun, Cops flip out and point guns, all hell breaks loose.

Surely that would be a case of biker escalating the situation?

That would be a case of a biker starting a situation and the cops escalating it. Cops trained to deescalate in the same situation translates into less than 9 dead. In any case, the bikers in this scenario did not have a lot of guns.

Twin Peaks is a hooters knock off.

A little vague, but I think this is a guy who gets charged with murder for the death of his accomplice who was shot by police.
lots of states have statutes where, if any person loses their life in commission of a felony, those who committed the felony are successfully prosecuted for 1st degree murder. doesn't matter if the victim is an innocent bystander or one of the accomplices in the crime, nor does it matter if any of the perpetrators directly took the victim's life.

with that said, the fact that they released all these guys doesn't look very good for the police

Four of the nine people killed in a melee between rival biker gangs outside a Texas restaurant were struck by the same caliber of rifle fired by Waco police, according to evidence obtained by The Associated Press that provides the most insight yet into whether authorities were responsible for any of the deaths and injuries.

There is something very wrong with the US police .. and the shallow gullible media.
Doesn't look like that's what happened:

Quote:
Police dashboard video shows a tight group gathered in front of the Twin Peaks patio. A biker can be seen striking others with a chain. Twenty seconds later, the biker is shot in the leg and the hip, staining the grass with blood. One biker shoots while running backward away from the parking lot while another fires from the patio. The group quickly disperses, with many taking cover behind cars and trucks.

Department of Public Safety video shows one of the men who was killed, Jesus Delgado Rodriguez, tackling another biker brandishing a gun. The two wrestle on the ground until another biker approaches and appears to stomp on Rodriguez's head. The biker with the gun then shoots Rodriguez in the head and walks away.
I don't know how one would "deescalate" that situation.

What's the significance of the same caliber? It's not like the police use special bullets. 9mm or .40 are the most common rounds used by police and also the most common used by common folk.
12-13-2015 , 06:28 PM
They had rifles as far as I know so wouldn't that potentially mean a less common round than all the handguns in the crowd?
12-13-2015 , 10:38 PM
Apparently the police officers who fired rounds all had the same caliber (.223 rifle), so that would mean they could have killed a maximum of four victims (though two of those four also had wounds from different caliber guns.) It's unclear if the bikers had any guns with the same caliber as the police.

If Waco bikers had rifles other than AK-47, those rifles would most likely fire .223.

I am not sure if bikers had rifles though. I imagine it's kind of annoying to carry rifles while riding on a motorcycle.
