Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) also declared that the bill is needed because “America is part of the battlefield.”

If it was co-authored by John McCain, and Lindsey Graham thinks it's a good idea... then yes, it's probably as bad as it sounds.

I don't see how this is even remotely constitutional. 800 years of habeas corpus law... but nah.

Well, to say the ACLU isn't a bunch of liberals is pretty intellectually dishonest, but it's also irrelevant to this discussion. This is insanity. This is one of those "Good intentions" laws like asset forfeiture, which was meant to take down Mafia dons but is now used to take $3500 Civics from people with felony amounts of weed.
