If you entered illegally, you're not eligible for a green card, even if you marry a US citizen.

Googling suggests you still have to apply and if you entered the country illegally you better get an immigration attorney.

I wasn't expecting to get ponied on that one.

It all depends on your status independent of the marriage. If you're an illegal alien and you're married to a citizen you're still 100% eligible for deportation. You have to apply for a path to citizenship. The default position is deportation but you can apply for them to look at your situation and if they determine that deporting your spouse would be a hardship on you and therefore it's in the citizen's best interest that the illegal immigrant stays. Then they can put them on a path towards citizenship. It's all tentative though and there's no guarantee of anything.

It leads to odd situations where a marriage between two doctors had to move to Canada because the wife was deported because they determined that two doctors living in Canada wouldn't be a hardship, but another couple of low skill workers who had one partner have diabetes or some other medical condition getting citizenship. It's also a make or break situation where people have to determine if they want to roll the dice where they might get deported or remain in the shadows because if you apply for for the hardship waiver and don't get it you get the boot.

An even slower pony. Speaking of which I can't imagine the questions they'd ask now to verify that a marriage was real for someone to get a green card. The Trump IC must be asking all sorts of crazy questions to try and trip couples up.

There was another story a few days ago about a Trumpkin lady who married an illegal immigrant and was aghast to find he'd been deported.

Is it the one that was posted here before? Because he was in immigration purgatory for a bit but as of yesterday, he's gone.

On the plus side at least it means the chances of her breeding have been cut.

EDIT. Not true, damn her for already reproducing.

If you guys remember when Lawfare canceled their April Fool's Day joke:

Quote:
Lawfare will be breaking with tradition by not posting an April Fool’s Day joke this year. We just couldn’t come up with anything so silly and clearly factually inaccurate that there was no chance anyone at the White House would take it seriously. We didn't want to risk sparking a crisis.
Turns out they were fearful for good reason! Fake State Department diplomatic cable created as April Fool's joke gets State Department furious

Quote:
There was no laughter emanating from the upper echelons of the State Department building on April 1, a.k.a. April Fools' Day, when the Diplopundit blog, which feasts on Foggy Bottom foibles and rumors, posted a joke directive under the headline “Leaked Cable Provides Guidance For 'America First' Cost Savings Initiatives.”

The “cable” started in a semi-serious tone, explaining cost-cutting measures suggested “to help achieve the President's agenda to urgently fund defense and homeland security.” Embassy Minsk, it said, recycles paper towels. Embassy Addis Ababa flushes the toilets less. The consulate in General Yekaterinburg turns down the thermostat, even in the dead of winter, and staffers pour buckets of icy water over their heads to acclimatize themselves.

Other tips: Sheep and goats can mow the lawn at embassies in place of gardeners. Smaller font sizes use less ink and toner, and shorter official reports need less paper.

Just 53 minutes after the gag cable went online, the chief blogger — who goes by the pseudonym Domani Spero (Tomorrow, I hope) — received an email from Mark Stroh, acting head of the State Department Press Office.

“You may or may not know that the cable posted at the link below is false, a forgery,” Stroh wrote in an email Spero eventually posted on Diplopundit. “This may be an April fool that you all have executed or one that was executed on you but either way we'd ask that you immediately take it down and note with a prominent correction that this was a forgery and not a real cable.”
Quote:
The author of Diplopundit did not reply to an emailed request for comment. But when he posted the two Stroh emails (on top of the joke cable that stays up to this day), he noted that he had posted April Fools' Day cables during the nine years he has been writing the blog. But he said he had never been asked to take them down before. “Until now,” he wrote.

Is the person running NBC Charlotte an immigrant?

Bunch of Stormfront members are probably spamming it all over the area.

According to Tass, the recorded message could be heard in Russian and English: “You have reached the Russian Embassy. Your call is very important to us. To arrange a call from a Russian diplomat to your political opponents, press 1. To use the services of Russian hackers, press 2. To request election interference, press 3 and wait until the next election campaign. Please note that all calls are recorded for quality improvement and training purposes.”
Elite. Dr. Evil would be amused.

I can see Trump sitting there on Apr 1st, confused about which option to pick.

What percent of Trump voters would sign that letter?

25% is my serious guess. If trolling I'd say 50.

The grammar and spelling in that letter are poor. Some of the phrasing doesn't seem common: "nation builder for white America"? Maybe it wasn't written by a native speaker. False flag or written by a paticularly stupid dumbass?

Extreme right-wingers notoriously lack the ability to spell, put words together coherently, or do any kind of nice-looking art or graphic design. They're pretty much bad at using their brains (kinda like 45*). Go check out any of those extreme right wing news sites to see what I mean.

Entirely possible, given that we're talking about Trump supporters.

Solid 50th percentile writing for native speakers.

So what's the reason why they don't report the names of the racist *******s in situations like these?

I can't think of a reason either.

I mean they wouldn't have gone to the media with this if AirBnB handled it themselves. They have a non-discrimination policy but they aren't very clear about how they'll enforce it in their terms of service. Perhaps they only gave the guy a slap on the wrist.
