Don't just yell at them, actually explain why what they said is bad, why it hurts everybody, why people of color are hurting right now, etc. Give them the information. It's up to them to provide the slightest amount of empathy, which I'm afraid is lacking in our culture on both the left and the right. I know if we want to dig ourselves out of this hole we have to find a way to access empathy.

"I have to unfacebook for a few days. I had a patient die during a transfer last night because our ambulance was stopped by protesters and had to drive an extra 45 minutes around the blocked roads. I can't today. They can five their ****ing safety pins to my patients's fatherless 4 year old daughter.

Thoughts on this? Besides for obviously this being wrong. These protests arent peaceful when they are having this kind of impact.
