Trump is not behind the curve time wise when compared to Obama who started rolling out his cabinet in December. Hopefully the rumored FP team does not come to fruition. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presid...f_Barack_Obama

Who pays Bannon for his role as "adviser"? It's not really a government job is it?
11-16-2016 , 10:41 AM
Everybody in Trump's transition team ranges from grossly unqualified to repugnant. The only common trait they have is an unflinching loyalty to Trump.

As for option one: Trump has been conning the rubes, you might want to look at this short list of promises he's already failed.

And here's how Bannon whispers into the ear of a simple minded man toward the policies of the alt-right. Disgusting.

Going to go out on a limb and say that the President has broad powers to create positions and determine compensation.

I am currently witnessing the following discussion on Facebook:

Guy posts article about Bannon and writes, "When you make the KKK and the American nazi party happy by the people you appoint, then there is a problem!"

Commenter #1: Who cares? The black panthers endorsed Obama, it's irrelevant.

The guy is an advisor, big deal. He's also a retired naval officer and former managing partner at Goldman Sachs, among other things. His resume does not read like anything other than an intelligent and accomplished person.

OP: George Lincoln Rockwell founder of the American nazi party, also a Naval Officer and a war vet, Korea. Businessman and a nazi. So what you do is irrelevant to who you are.

Commenter #1: It's not. In any event, it's pretty thin to excoriate a guy because you think the KKK likes him.

Is Obama any less of a guy because the Black Panthers like him?

OP: Obama didn't appoint a black panther to any post in the gov, Trump is appointing this guy, who is a fringe white nationalist

Commenter #2: Eric Holder was black panther. Matter of fact he actually held a hall on a campus with guns.

OP: Not sure about him being a black panther. He participate in the occupation of the rotc office in a demonstration against Vietnam. No guns were involved, as far as I can find.

Commenter #1 (back on original topic): Lol, says you. Fortunately, just like your so called KKK endorsement, it doesn't mean much. Perhaps this will make you feel better: (posts picture of Hillary Clinton Certificate of Participation)

OP:The fact that you can't make a connection between the people who endorse you and the your rhetoric, shows that you don't get it. Trump just doesn't get it.

Commenter #1: Keep trying. There are knuckleheads across the political spectrum. That some misguided boneheads like Trump makes him guilty of exactly nothing. I suspect at the end of the day they are going to be pretty disappointed.
I'll let you get back to your butt-hurt, facts won't soothe your pain.

I'd imagine there's some kind of staff budget or something that his salary comes from. So, yes.
11-16-2016 , 11:49 AM
Bannon will get a staff too.

Couldn't he whip together a quick TV show where he sets the various candidates policy tasks and then fires the failures until he finally hires on Jan 20th?

I'd watch.

Call me crazy but I'll take any of these lazy crazy idiots over Cruz. Cruz is a one man power hungry psychopath and if he gets anywhere near the administration he'll do everything to own every part of it. Plus no one's near as smug as him.

Anyone imagining a Trump presidency would do well to consult Müller’s text, which describes populism’s governing playbook. First, populist leaders “colonize” the state, putting loyalists in formerly nonpartisan bureaucratic roles, and undercutting the independence of judges and the news media. Second, they engage in “mass clientelism,” trading material favors for continued political support. And third, they unleash “discriminatory legalism,” applying the full force of law against foes but not friends. These tactics can be found in different kinds of political systems, Müller admits, “yet in populist regimes, they are practiced openly and, one might suspect, with a clean moral conscience.”
Quote:
What about the border wall and the Muslim ban and all the other policies Trump has promised? Despite their apparent specificity, such proposals may have been little more than “deliberate attention-getting ploys,” Judis explains. “But they were also typical of a populist approach . . . dramatizing the difference between what the ‘silent majority’ wanted and what the ‘establishment’ would condone.”
In other words take him seriously, not literally.

I wonder if Cruz would accept a SCOTUS nomination. It'd get rid of him in politics and likely make me howl w/ laughter when the R's say 'err, no.'

In my opinion he'd snap take a SCOTUS position. He's young, he knows how he envisions America law and society to be, and it'd give him a thousand times more power than being a Senator or even an AG would.
