This is why I think Trump is super dangerous going forward. He is actively warping reality as his voters see it which just festers the kind of toxic political climate that he thrives in. GOP strategists over at Fox clearly see that as a winning strategy now more so than ever, and it's just impossible to see the clock being turned back on this. We're in for an ugly 4 years.

Throwing about the term lynching in Trumps America is just an acceptable thing these days. Plenty of assumed white folk have been threatening black representatives with lynching for suggesting trump be impeached.

Meanwhile on NPR, they're doing more hillbilly elegy economic anxiety bull**** this morning.

Just like how some alt-right Nazi college student straight up stabbed a black dude to death for no reason but the mainstream media is far more inclined to handwring about the intolerance of Notre Dame students walking out of commencement.

this attitude always annoys me. she's a genuinely convinced white supremacist and works hard and consistently to further that goal. there's no reason to write that off as just trolling.

The conversation about this on an ND board I frequent, which is basically like a better written Chiefsplanet, actually devolved to this:

You could also not show up or wear something on your hat. But yeah, once Hitler is invited and you have shown up at the ceremony you implicitly accept the rules of decorum governing the event. Better to not show up, in those circumstances.
Literally arguing that it's wrong to protest a hypothetical speech by Hitler by walking out

I don't think she's trolling necessarily (that's more Milo territory), but she knows how to appeal to her base and provoke the worst elements of our society. I think the fact that she actually is willing to take Trump to task for different things shows she's more principled than others, even if those principles are just screw brown and poor people.

In their defense, not staying for the full ceremony will undermine the impact of having "Hitler Sux" taped on your mortarboard.

Agreed but remember the people falling for this idea aren't the scammers. Coulter and the rest of the alt-reich which loves to play the card of "we're just trolling for the LULLZ" is scamming a lot of people into this idea, with great success.
05-24-2017 , 10:23 AM
"alt-reich", i like that einbert. gonna start using that one.

Yeah I wondered out loud if Donald Trump winning might not be worse for the GOP than him losing. Not super happy to have that theory tested and be so very very right. Yeah we probably can't impeach him, but does anyone at this point doubt that we'll see record high voter turnout in 2018 and 2020?
05-24-2017 , 12:39 PM
Yeah if we can just fade the end of democracy and nuclear war - I agree the GOP will be worse off. This country as a whole however would be much better off with a sane GOP.

Political OR (Opposition Research) Uncovers A Howler ...

From the article: "Republican groups dug into Quist’s medical records and questioned his musical performance at a nudist colony."

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/0...anforte-238746

I suppose Montana Republicans didn't like Quist's rendition of "Home on the Range" while nudist voters were frolicking in the altogether.

Why Republicans May Ride the Trump Train Off a Cliff

Bump.

http://www.vanityfair.com/news/2017/...h-donald-trump

Paul Ryan has already told his caucus, in effect, "Mid-term elections are always difficult for the party in the White House, so you guys do what you have to do to get re-elected. Good luck!" Translation: "If you're a vulnerable Republican, you're [probably] screwed."

To rub some salt in the wound, here's Kellyanne Conway "advising" Republican members of Congress that they shouldn't be worrying about their own re-elections. (Yea, right!)

I never go in to POG; do all the posters there go on these day-long turbo-posting binges? Seems exhausting.

Have you never played werewolf? Day long posting binges are the whole point of the forum.
