Nah he worked the state for two years. His support likely comes from churchies who spent considerable time with him. Old school Iowa politics.

who has the best coverage this morning? i unblocked fnc from my cable box for the festivities.

I'm thinking Hillary and the GOP winner unresolved by this time tomorrow.

Rubio 18.6%
Carson 9.0%
Paul 8.6%
Bush 4.9%
Huckabee 4.4%
Kasich 4.0%
Fiorina 3.8%
Christie 3.0%
Undecided 2.2%
Santorum 2.1%

My favorite crosstab. In a world without landline voters Paul leads:

A Trump/Rand tie, at that!

Man, what a world that would be.

It's Evangelicals who view Cruz as a douche.

Maybe everyone already thought of this but it just occurred to me that neither Clinton has ever won in Iowa.

Trump and Sanders, both close.

Can we talk about how strange the Iowa caucus process is? Anybody know why they still do it this way?
02-01-2016 , 12:02 PM
strange because i heard DMR was last poll. but on tv, they said Q poll IA is out today (wtf today?)

Trump extended his lead in that poll. it was today 31-24. up from plus 2.

and "Emerson" is out with an IA poll today. Trump by 1. was up by 10 in their previous one.

The Quinnipiac Poll started before the DMR poll and finished after. So there's a whole lot of old data, it started on 1/25 so half before the last debate.

It's a way for the local GOP establishment to exert more control over the vote to not allow disastrous candidates like Trump that would win in democratic processes. They changed it this year so the straw poll is binding, whereas last time around it was purely for media reporting where Ron Paul ended up taking 22 of the 29 delegates despite finishing 3rd.

The national GOP made a number of changes to democratize the process after the Paul campaign in 2012 exploited the old rules they had in place for establishment candidates. Many of those changes will make it harder for them to stop Trump.

i predict Trump in a huge turnout election. Tight win, cruz gets em out too. I am leaning Hill or maybe toss up. or maybe bern.

I think Trump/Cruz are getting destroyed and take very little of the undecideds, just as Romney was in 2012/2008. I think they mostly go to Rubio, Carson, Paul, or Huckabee. If anyone can break into the top three it's Paul spamming the live polls. Rubio is very live for 1st or 2nd. Cruz in 4th I would enjoy.
This polling group is total BS guys, don't take much from it. Nate Silver has busted them a few times lacking credibility.

I meant more along the lines of all people think Cruz is a douche, hence all evangelicals must as well

Well "douche" is lightly polled so you may be right.
02-01-2016 , 12:37 PM
That's true. Should really be included in the Quinnipiac polls

Douche away that Frothy mix just never caught on as a campaign slogan.

A lot was learned from that collapse. I have been acrossed it many times.

I think Wookie's home town a little farther north.
02-01-2016 , 12:41 PM
It was kind of unsettling crossing it decades after the collapse IMO.

new "self identification" category here that needs to be added to polling for sure.
