Re: state marijuana ballot measures 2012

well, I say it's interesting in light of that time a wheelchair guy tried to talk to Romney about medical marijuana, and Romney was all, 'lol bitch, I'd throw your ass in jail" at him

It's the only non-deplorable thing Ryan has said this campaign. And it's in direct conflict with the top of the ticket. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I love how pot is only treated as a cancer/hiv drug etc. They act as if its morphine or something.

Good to see Ryan say that, but Obama was all pro pot during his campaign and look what he did.

Re: state marijuana ballot measures 2012

well, the official line is now, and of course must be, that all drugs are equally as bad

just like all political parties are always equally to blame for any problem ever

so ridiculous

That's at least historically accurate. Heroin and opium were perfectly legal for decades before the lower class caught on and started using them. The final nail in the opium coffin was when Chinese migrant workers were smoking opium in dens that caucasians thought must surely be an attempt to lure white women in to rape.

It's the same for every drug in the history of our country. Tie the drug to a minority (blacks, mexicans, immigrants for Europe) and it'll be banned in no time!
Interesting point.

Could it be that once minorities start using x y z ect...they are made illegal not to ban the drugs but to punish the people that use them? ex. arrest, fine, jail. There is a ton of money that is made off the drug war.

Judge Posner, a member of the influential United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago, is an intellectual giant who is the most-cited judge in America. His call for legalization is significant because Posner is considered a legal conservative.

One of the main conspiracies that surrounds MJ criminalization was that it was classified as a schedule 1 drug to go after the Black Panther Party.

Well, there's a lot of money being spent toward the drug war. And now that private prisons have sprung up, there's just that much more self-interested opposition to legalization

Colorado’s Marijuana Legalization Campaign Goes To Court Over Deleted Text In Ballot Book

The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, the pot advocacy group behind Colorado's marijuana legalization measure Amendment 64, filed a lawsuit in response to the Colorado Legislative Council's deletion of "Arguments For" Amendment 64 text in Colorado's voter guide, known as the "blue book."

The campaign says that the "Arguments For" Amendment 64 section of of the blue book is now just 208 words following the deletion, whereas the "Arguments Against" section is approximately 366 words -- meaning "Against" has nearly 75 percent more words than the "For" section. "The blue book is supposed to be fair and balanced, and it's safe to say this is quite lopsided and, thus, unfair," the campaign said in a statement.
