Broad daylight, outside a primary school. Absolutely sickening. Thoughts are with the family, cannot even begin to imagine.
Looks like they ambushed a soldier leaving the barracks by running him down in a car, then proceeded to attack him on the streets with weapons. Nobody's sure if the guy was a specific target or just the first one they saw leaving the barracks. COBRA meeting was called in response by David Cameron though I imagine more precautionary then being expectant of imminent similar attacks.
Should probably state the beheading or the soldier has not been officially verified, but many sources claim both to be true.

Links aren't exactly NSFW, but I've got a strong stomach and the accounts are pretty graphic/distressing.

Troubles broke out last night in Woolwich as a protest by a far-right "movement". Mainly football lads by the looks of it. Police showed a lot of force to shut it all down ASAP, the last thing they would have wanted is a repeat of 2 years ago I guess.

No doubt more a few nutters with warped views of Islam than terrorists. Props to the police for shooting to wound, both attackers apparently injured but stable in separate hospitals. Disgusting cowardly attack, thoughts and prayers go to the family. Hopefully no more violence comes from this.

FWIW they probably weren't thinking shoot to wound but the medical response was such (air lifted to hospital) that they were able to be kept alive.

People are walking right next to him on the sidewalk like it's nothing.

There is a place for everyone in the UK even ***** like imperius and I'm very happy our NHS would provide care even for him.

What's there to say. Its a very nasty incident but its been dealt with, minimal other response is appropriate.
