US accuses Iran of plot to assassinate Saudi ambassador to the US

Things will escalate until we end up invading Iran and doing Israel's dirty work for them.

The US sucks.
10-11-2011 , 04:58 PM
Do you think Israel is the only country threatened by the current Iranian regime?
10-11-2011 , 04:58 PM
Watched the conference earlier.

It is bascially GG Iran at this point.

edit
Is it wrong that I wanted there to be a terrorist attack on the podium when Baharara started talking?

Yeah pretty bold to be planning it on U.S. soil. WTF are they thinking?

About 100%. Iranian govt, with all of their actual terrorist operatives and allies, sends a random guy to *initiate contact* with a mexican drug cartel so they can jointly carry out an attack that would be minimally disruptive to the function of the US and quite likely to get the **** bombed out of them back home in Iran. Not to sound like a conspiritard, but this really doesn't make any sense at all.
10-11-2011 , 05:14 PM
Can we just start recycling all the old OMG WAR WITH IRAN??? threads from the Bush era tia.
10-11-2011 , 05:14 PM
Lol @ the story. It's perfect. It implicates both Iran and the drug cartels. When will the invasions of Iran and Mexico begin?

I don't understand why Iran needs the cartels to do an assassination.
10-11-2011 , 05:17 PM
Iran is nothing like Iraq.

Airstrikes with drones might be possible i guess, though unlikely under the current paradigm, but there wont be any invasion.

I will bet you $100.00 that 1 year from now, the U.S.A. will not have "invaded" Iran.

I know, right?

IMO it's either a false flag or Iran wanted to get caught planning this. The latter scares me more.

Iran contacted a Mexican drug cartel so that they could get some of those free guns the Holder Justice Department is handing out.

Frugal terrorism that.

I think every country in the world with nuclear weapons should just shoot them all straight up into the sky and they can all come crashing down on everyone and we can just end all of the stupid bull**** and be done with it.

The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Washington called the plot “a despicable violation of international norms.”

How? Look at everything the United States government has done. The U.S. is supposed to be the shining example for every other country to look up to. In that case, assassination plots and other misdeeds ARE international norms, as established by the United States government.

As we said in the political hated draft, Ahmadinejad is the ultimate troll. I have no doubt that after people are like "zomg, thats terrible" he will go full trollface and talk about US drone strikes.
10-11-2011 , 06:40 PM
I actually like Ahmadinejad, and for that very reason. He's a good troll. It's entertaining.

Some of these quotes from the DOJ are just so ridiculous.

Quote:
“We will not let other countries use our soil as their battleground,” Preet Bharara, the U.S. attorney in Manhattan, said at a press conference in Washington with Holder and FBI Director Robert Mueller.
I mean how can someone say this with a straight face? We are not at war with Yemen, with Somalia, but we sure as hell use their soil as a battleground. And I remember that Preet name from Black Friday.. ugh DOJ.

Quote:
Holder said the U.S. government would be taking unspecified action against the Iranian government as early as Tuesday afternoon. Asked whether the plot was blessed by the top echelons of the Iranian government, Holder said the Justice Department was not making that accusation.
So I'm curious how low on the chain of being in the Iranian government these plotters are at. And what the hell does unspecified action mean? More sanctions? Yeah, that will change things.

Quote:
The plotters planned to pay a Drug Enforcement Administration informant posing as a member of the Zetas cartel $1.5 million to carry out the attack, U.S. officials said.
There's never a terror plot anymore that isn't somehow orchestrated by our own government. It seems to me we manufacture all these terror plots, as pointed out by Glenn Greenwald in The FBI thrwarts it's own terror plot (written before today)

Seriously, more impetus to continue the perpetual wars on terror and drugs. What a joke.

Is Holder now a stringer for The Onion?

The whole story sounds even crazier than something Mossad might plant as disinformation in conspi****** fashion. I'm having a really hard time taking it at face value.

The primary evidence linking the Iranian government to the planned attempt on al-Jubeir's life are the words of one of the alleged plotters, who told U.S. law enforcement agents after his arrest that he had been recruited and directed by men he understood were senior Quds Force officials.
I'm guessing this will be the only "evidence" of the Iranian government's involvement.

Hey with that and some subtle suggestions that they might have WMDs, what more do we need?
